You can support the orphanage while we take on many unwanted babies and adults through this time, while also buying some Christmas presents! Please ensure you have read all terms and conditions prior to placing bids.... TERMS AND CONDITIONS - The auction opens at 7pm on Sunday 8th November and closes at 7pm on Sunday 22nd November. - To place a bid: simply comment on the photo of the art item you want the amount in whole dollars you are willing to pay to secure your bid. - Bidders under 18 years of age must have parental consent - Bids are final and must not be deleted. Some of you may already know her but Krystal from Bunfluff Grooming has been a dear friend of the orphanage ...for a while. She’ll be donating her time between 12-6pm to groom your furry ones. All we ask for is a donation in exchange for any of the following services: Bunny Brazilian, Nail Clipping and Short Hair Groom. We have 15-minute slots available via the booking website. Can I adopt a baby bunny from you? - Yes, but only once they’ve been weaned from their mum. Although they can start nibbling on hay and pellets from 2-4 weeks they still need mum’s milk until they are 8 weeks or more. 18.01.2022 Did someone say "bunny tunnels"? Some of our volunteers have been building some tunnels (you may have seen them in our auctions over the last 6 months) They've currently got a few up for grabs with all profits donated to the orphanage!... If these are popular, they'll continue building tunnels for all our auctions and to sell and help raise vital funds! PRICE: The tunnels are priced at $65. DIMENSIONS: 80cm (L) x 24cm (H) x 28cm (W). The opening after braced front is 20cm x 20cm. All tunnels have a recessed carpet top that can be removed. These would be suited to standard to small sized buns. We have 1 even larger tunnel also which is $80. They are a part of our permanent foster program and have existing health challenges or special needs. They are often picked last so this program helps them get a second chance with a furever home & family. What’s the difference between fostering and adoption? - Our foster program is unique because it permanently covers our VIBs. All their vet bills are looked after by the orphanage and their indoor setup up is provided for free. 10.01.2022 HOPPY HOME TALES We often get asked if bunnies make good pets for children or if you can have different types of pets in the same household. There are so many factors to consider but our ex-orphan Bounce has been lucky enough to join a family with a young child and a dog. ... Tanur shares her experience with us: I found out about the orphanage when I was looking for an organisation to get advice about a bun I felt was being neglected. I ended up adopting Bounce after talking to Judi a number of times about my son’s childcare bunny that I wanted to rescue but couldn’t. My 3 year old was heartbroken plus I had fallen in love with rabbits and knew we had to get one! We had a dog who had proven he could be trusted around bunnies. I saw Bounce’s cheeky face in a post on this page and wanted to bring him home. Bounce is amazing! He’s very clever & loving - he loves all of us. He decided he was not going to stay in the pen after a couple of weeks so we took it down. He now is the KING although he does like to chew carpets under the bed so I had to keep the bedrooms locked. The most rewarding thing is getting to know what an amazing species they are and watching my son love animals. Getting kisses from Bounce and he trust us so much so that he will stay put for as many cuddles as you want. We will provide a temporary baby setup. If you can provide them a permanent home, please ring Judi on 97511229 to book in an appointment. ***Our nursery adoption is set up slightly differently to our regular adoption process so please read on for more details. HOW THIS WORKS: When they are 14 weeks old you MUST bring them and their baby setup back to the Orphanage so that we can have their desexing surgeries done. Once they have recovered (2 to 3 days), you can collect your bunnies and formalise their adoption or fostering. While they are having their surgeries, you can organise a normal rabbit indoor setup.
