The sooner facilities bust through the miles of red tape & green tape the sooner work can commence to get them built & operational. In times like these it's vital we support anything that provides more choice for racers & also creates jobs, supports the economy and wider community. Get behind it, help push this through and stay safe during this time.

25.01.2022 Competitor Notice. The 1st Drivers Briefing will be pushed back to 08:30. The drivers briefing will be at RW HQ as per previous years with driver sign on + BAC checks also happening at HQ.... Vehicle day checks are occurring as you first enter the pits / park up area to enable us to get racing as soon as possible.

24.01.2022 Last night the City of Albany voted to approve an expansion of the Targa Albany Sprint to include what should be an amazing stage along parts of the Vancouver Peninsula. The City also reaffirmed it's unwaivering support for Grassroots Motorsport by stepping in to support the growth of this event. With 2 days of racing now approved among some of WA's most beautiful coastline we're pleased to see the "Racewars Weekend" grow in to a broader, more diverse weekend of automotive culture that provides avenues for Motorsport lovers to enjoy our sport while we support a region that's given our community so much. So given celebrations are clearly in order it's only right we drop another video & what better what to celebrate than with some skids!

22.01.2022 The Racewars Team are pleased to advise that the not so reliable Rex Airlines jalopy has finally departed and the airport is now finally able to complete its transition in to our race track. We will do all we can tonight to make up the time lost while we waited for the delayed flight and apologise for delays bumping in tonight due to the delayed flight. We will do all we can tonight and work until the wee hours to be able to kick off on time tomorrow. Thanks for your patience... tonight. 21.01.2022 This year was a big one! We may not have been able to run on the Sunday, but Saturdays racing was some of the best weve ever seen. A huge thank you to all of our entrants and winners for supporting some Grassroots motorsport. Most of all, well done to the Active Automotive team & Eddy Tassone who reached an astounding Racewars record of 347.67Km/h over the 800m in the HSV GTO. The 1000m record will no doubt be broken again next year. We cant wait. 19.01.2022 On behalf of everyone in the WA Motorsport community we'd like to pass on our congratulations to Ross Tapper who was awarded an Order of Australia Medal today in recognition of his contribution to our sport. Ross has been the driving force behind so many events we all love and continues to lead the Targa West Events team as they gear up for another huge season of events in 2021. With the Auto One Targa Albany Sprint now just weeks away there's still time to pay tribute to R...oss's achievements in the best we can think of. 18.01.2022 Racewars would like to announce that Jessica has decided to leave the RW Team in order to focus on her young family & career in the resources sector. Jessica has been part of the Racewars team since our first event in 2013 and quickly grew in to one of the teams key members. In many ways Jessica was the person who held it all together behind the scenes; keeping everyone on their toes & everything in order. On behalf of the entire RW Team we wholeheartedly thank Jessica for he...r dedicated service to not just our event but the broader WA Grassroots Motorsport Community. As we look back on RW20 and evaluate our options for future events we will make further announcements regarding additional staff changes & other matters in due course. In the interim please join us in celebrating Jessicas time with us.

18.01.2022 Crowd favourite Cash Days 1/8th Mile Racing makes a triumphant return for this years Racewars! It was a big night filled with some close battles down the 1/8th mile. Albanys infamous weather started to creep in as the night came to a close resulting in a three-way split pot between Simon in the Supercharged Trackhawk, the red Hanful and the Imlovinit Targa GTR. 17.01.2022 The Racewars Team are now on site & working on set up for RW20. Its going to be a huge few days working to turn a runway in to a race track. The team wont be checking emails or page messages during this time. But wed like to remind everyone that 99.999% of their questions can be answered by reading the event guide available for download on our website OR checking the Competitor Guide issued to competitors after they passed scruit. Conditions are looking good for the mornings V-Max runs, and with Eddy Tassones Active Automotive and Performance Centre Monaro clocking a national record-breaking 347.67 km/h over the 800m tonight, as the final run of the day, its anyones guess what the fastest run of the Hour of Power sessions will be tomorrow. 15.01.2022 It's been a while... So much has happened since RW20. So before we discuss where the road ahead is taking us let's take some time to look back at what was a great weekend on The Amazing South Coast. Join the Stance Royalty clique on their road to Racewars.

15.01.2022 In case you've missed todays news our friends at @Targa West Events have announced their plans for a 2 day Targa Albany Sprint for 2021! With the awesome Middleton Beach Hillclimb plus another yet to be announced new stage it's great to see Motorsport still soilder on in to 2021! Which brings us to the 2021 question. ... We've been quiet for a long time trying to work out what lies ahead for us. (and sitting on a heap of awesome #RW20 content in the process). So while it's been widely speculated for some time we can confirm we are not in a position to deliver a successful, sustainable event for 2021. After two challenging years the current level of general uncertainty and it's impact on commercial and major public event insurance markets coupled with the potential for COVID restrictions to be imposed at any time mean that the downside risks are too great for the team behind Racewars to consider. We have communicated our desire to take a hiatus from the 2021 Runway Racing event with the view to assess the state of play later in 21 to look at a return for 2022 to The City of Albany & will await a response in due course. Regardless of what lies on the road ahead we're proud of what's been achieved and will continue to champion the cause of Grassroots Racing any way we can. With that out of the way we'll start dropping some of the sweet 2020 content we've got stashed. (And we'll likely see many of you back in Albany for the Targa Albany Sprint in 2021.)

14.01.2022 The Monday sprint up Marine Drive to the top of Mt Adelaide returns for Racewars 2020 with the expert Targa West team at the helm. It was an awesome day filled with incredibly close racing, with the results coming down to the wire as everyone pushed 10/10ths on the final runs of the day. Congrats to all of our class winners, and thank you to all spectators, sponsors and all of the competitors who took part in this years Targa Racewars Sprint. 11.01.2022 Competitor Announcement. Due to overnight rainfall & ongoing inclement weather we have made the regrettable decision to cancel todays racing at the runway. Competitor Safety will always be our highest priority and as heartbreaking as it is to cancel the event it seems well be left with some more unfinished business to attend to in 2021.... The airport will open at 9am to allow competitors to collect their cars and belongings. The wrap up party at Due South is NOT impacted. The Targa Albany Sprint is NOT impacted at this stage. Jon & Jamie skive off set up, the Stance Royalty crew go to the Gap 3 times in one day to get content shot for the RW20 feature, Twiggy Forrest shuts down set up over & over again with his Chopper & Private Jet visits to the airport and we gas out the Maccas drive through with E85 & Premix fumes... 03.01.2022 After setting the Limo Lap Record on The Sprint were going to sign off for RW20. Its been a huge weekend for us and while we would have loved to run the full program yesterday we will never, ever sacrifice racer safety. Our congratulations go to all our RW20 class winners & of course our 2020 Grand Champion Ed Tassone. The lead up to RW20 has been tough for all of us and with the event now wrapped up were going to take some time off away from Racewars. We want to thank ea...ch and everyone of you who supported the event this year.
