25.01.2022 We are so lucky here in WA the winery’s and landscape that is so vast. The beautiful beaches and amazing flowers that live on the dry salty earth are so beautiful the colours of the coast and the wildlife beautiful dragon flys and butterflies, the incredible crystal clear water and the underground world of fish and coral I have tuned into instagram a bit over Christmas and i can’t shake the one post I caught it’s been bugging away at my subconscious, I listened to a video ...about how now is the time in a small business to not take your finger off the pulse to keep being a motivated seller to keep your business pumping! And I have done the exact opposite and if I was a business motivation expert ( which is probably why I’m not) I would say let go, stop pushing, relax in the process, live and breathe, because your business will grow all the time you are putting love into it. Chill out in the process I think this is my new mantra for 2021 See more
25.01.2022 Pretty little mini soon to be uploaded onto my website for sale. I think this is one of my new favourites.

24.01.2022 Today it’s not just the nut roast cooking! you could cook an egg on the floor outside it’s so hot! This Christmas is cooking!
23.01.2022 Monday morning the summer is saying hello, today I started the day with watering the veggies and picking the herbs to stop them from going to seed, stringing up the tomatoes and taking away the middle shoots, flicking the tomato flowers (I can’t remember why but a habit I picked up as a child) The sounds of hedge trimming in a neighbours garden and squeeky gate sound of the pigeons wings as they burst into a sudden flight (yes if you think about it the pigeons wings sound is something like a squeaky gate!!! Trust me!) Anyway my hands smell like parsley chives and tomatoes as I relaxed into my painting today feeling content, we are blessed. This world is so full of beautiful things, slowing down after a busy weekend. I paint not only because I love flowers it to pay tribute to nature and the peace it brings
22.01.2022 My little business cards were delivered today, I wish I hadn’t put my name on the front now then they could of made cute little mini art cards! Damn why didn’t I think of this before
21.01.2022 Another day another beautiful vase of mums garden inspiration. I love the peach colour and the way big garden grown roses open up showing their centre they are strong at first but they age delicately, little by little dropping their leafs as if surrendering their beauty back into the earth. Roses have such glamorous personality’s they offer such excitement and anticipation when they are buds they are both delicate and strong they always looks good when they stand alone they grow old gracefully, they are all completely unique. I’m a rose fan

20.01.2022 Happy birthday to my big sister @karen_louise_art I painted this for u because when we were little I was always dressed in pink and you were blue! The simplicity of the blue flowers reminds me of your simple ‘less is more’ style. You don’t do frills or sequins, you’re calm and strong and always level headed you take everything in your stride. Thanks for being my complete opposite and best friend.
20.01.2022 Come and see me at Art up market. I am so excited to be sharing my latest art works, all my recent art will be on display and for sale and very affordable so if you’re looking for that special pop of colour or that vintage floral vibe in your home then come and see me
17.01.2022 After a hugely successful @artupmarket I can happily say I have only 2 paintings left After receiving some post market sales over the weekend. This beautiful bright floral is off to her new home tomorrow I am so great full for the people who have bought my paintings and for all the kind feedback I received at the market on Saturday. If you have bought one of my paintings please feel free to send me a photo I’d love to see where they have ended up ... Now with a empty studio I feel a new collection of beautiful florals is coming! I will upload new work onto my website as soon as possible.
17.01.2022 Just a pretty blue background with a bright orange contrasting floral! Bringing some cool colour vibes! Peace and platforms
17.01.2022 Hello yellow How’s the world of instagram hanging together today? I feel like I should open a renovation account and post all my renovation photos I’ve taken as many photos of brick walls and wooden floors recently We’re just over a week into the Reno and it’s been a challenge I won’t lie there’s always something that jumps up and bites you on the arse and for us it’s been some asbestos! But we’re onto it and hopefully it won’t put us back too much! I cannot wait to see a shiny new kitchen and lovely polished floor boards. Trying to imagine past brick dust and a 70s blue toilet
16.01.2022 This little mini is off to the framers with all my other recently painted minis. I cannot wait to see how they look in frames. There’s something about a mini in a frame I’m counting down the days until @artupmarket 17th October (link in my bio) so I can put these little beauties on display
15.01.2022 Today’s favourite flower. This one was going to the ugly bug ball until a few brave swipes with a big juicy brush. I am officially the fairy godmother of my flower (slight chance I spend too much time painting )
15.01.2022 Today is totally FREEZING!!! i often see people where I live coming back from the park carrying lots of wood for their fireplaces so after school today I sent my boys over on a mission to get good wood! They came back with awesome bundles of sticks, my boys instinctively know how to collect wood so it seems! We are now enjoying a monster fire. I am so great full for these small things. When it’s cold all we need is warmth (and wine, wine helps)
15.01.2022 Signed and framed ready for @artupmarket
12.01.2022 My lovely mum bought me her garden roses they smell amazing and are the perfect inspiration
12.01.2022 #meettheartist I’m not a natural when in front of the camera but here i am in action and in my happy place. Art Upmarket
10.01.2022 Pink on pink on pink! Is it Wednesday! This week has flown by! I was planning to post this last week I find being present on my instagram a huge challenge. I LOVE looking and seeing what everyone is painting but then I also love just painting and listening to music I pick up my phone most days too look at the time and think where did the day go!. I find a week can slip past and I feel bad that I haven’t connected enough. I would love to do a on line course/ listen to a podcast or Skillshare class that teaches how to improve my connections and better my whole ‘on line’ part of running a small business. Let me know if you’ve got any good recommendations
08.01.2022 I am happy to say that my art is now live and for sale on my website! Woo hoo! www.rachaelstay.com.au How’s everyone going with the Christmas buildup? I can’t wait till we head south after Christmas to enjoy some beach and surfing. I love the thought that a new year is coming. This year despite the dreaded C word I have been able to stick to some goals and get some ticks in some of my boxes. I think it’s really important to take care when setting goals and to really take yo...ur time to relax in the process of what you’re trying to accomplish. I have definitely been guilty of wanting to spend every minute painting and growing my small business but obviously being a mum I need to give a lot of my time to my children, and I need to be happy to step back from what I want, to be what they need. I know I need to let go sometimes and trust that I will be able to get back to my art studio as soon as I’ve done the 101 things that need doing as a mother and that it’s a lot easier if sometimes I just put what I want completely out of the picture and be the best that I can be for them and that’s ok and that being there for them in the long run = happy beautiful art that is relaxed and to be honest I can’t get anything done when my kids are saying mum every 5 minutes anyway. Hence the week late adding my art to my website! Sometimes you just gotta go with the flow and you’ll get there in the end sending relax vibes to you all See more
03.01.2022 Anyone else has a stick collection? I treasure our stick collection it sits proudly in my hallway awaiting new members! Only the best sticks make it into the collection and over the years my boys have taken great pride in finding them. We also have a awesome rock collection, a shell collection and a feather collection. What do you bring home from your walks? on Sunday we walked to some high ground and found a peace symbol! I wonder if it’s accidental or has someone masterfully created this on a dirt bike? What do you think?
02.01.2022 I recently had the pleasure of painting this large commission for a lovely couple. I am so pleased with the result and even more pleased that they love it. Close ups of this happy painting to come.
02.01.2022 Finishing touches on this bright beauty today. I’ve absolutely love painting this piece, all the colours just pop I’m looking forward to sharing it when it’s complete! Happy Monday
02.01.2022 Ta daaa! All done I am pleased with this one. to frame or not to frame
02.01.2022 Love the burgundy and dark green combination. It sums up all my winter vibes plus I’ve just eaten leftover dinner (cranberry and nut roast) for lunch, the rain is overflowing the pool and Perth weather is crying a rain tears for Victoria! #staysafevictoria
01.01.2022 Deep breath in and relax! Exhale! Repeat! (All day) my children are at school! I didn’t know if it was ever going to happen! I was becoming accustomed to the feeling of suppressed frustration along with completely giving up on fruit and vegetables! Replaced with biscuits and packets of crisps! I didn’t actually know how much I needed this quiet time. But as I sit here with only the sound of the clock ticking and the birds in the garden it is as though peace is restored. And the rain!!! how bloody awesome is that little gift from Mother Nature
