20.01.2022 I’m having so much fun mucking about with Travis picking. I’m turning literally every song I can get my hands on into a folk cover! Anyway, this is hard, I suck, and I freaking LOVE it! Only way to get better is to be a bit shit and embrace it. Progress is slow but so enjoyable. What are you working on?

17.01.2022 Would you stare into someone's eyes for one minute for a special concert? Canberrans are being invited to take up the offer of a one-to-one concert to support struggling freelance artists who have lost work due to the pandemic. Each participant has pieces of music played for them that they have spontaneously decided on based on the minute's silence.... Robyn, who enjoyed a solo performance by ANU singer Rachael Thoms, said the songs came as a welcome surprise after a year of loneliness. "I haven't been able to see my grandchildren since Christmas, which has been heartbreaking," she said. "As soon as she started playing the first piece it was one of the first pieces that I accompanied my father singing a long time ago. I was amazed." 11.01.2022 I am a guitar owner. I have four. I play all four very badly. But I’m not gonna let that stop me! Sunday morning means slow breakfast and guitar practice in my dressing gown. I really want to be better at this so here I am, warts and all sending my pledge to practice and improve out into the world of social media. Here is me butchering Held Down (Laura Marling), The Trapeze Swinger (Iron & Wine) and attempting to start finger picking on Naked As We Came (Iron & Wine). Feel free to sledge me. 02.01.2022 Posted @withregram @tuggeranongarts Celebrate the music of The Gerry Mulligan Quartet on Sunday 27 June when The Fringe of Squaredom return to Tuggeranong for the second showcase concert in TAC’s Sunday jazz series. West Coast jazz emerged in the 1950’s in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Featuring laid-back melodies and a chamber aesthetic, it came to represent cool modernism. Led by Tom Fell on baritone saxophone and with special guest Ben Marston on trumpet, this concert s...howcases the music of Gerry Mulligan and Chet Baker, both synonymous with the west coast sound. Chris Thwaite (drums) and James Luke (bass) complete the jazz quartet and will be joined by vocalist Rachael Thoms for a few songs.
