25.01.2022 I love a secret commission Especially when I receive a video of it being opened with one of the best reactions I’ve ever seen! Absolutely made my day ______________________________________________________ A3 watercolour on hot pressed watercolour paper featuring a couple of fur-babies at a special location.

25.01.2022 The absence of colour Stripped back, images without colour have a truth to them. Often colour is the element which tells the story, cueing an emotional response based on our perception of the colours that decorate the world. The absence of colour reminds us of what lies beneath the surface, under the illusion created by our brains. It also reminds us how amazing our senses are, but then I wonder- what else exists that we as humans don’t have the senses to detect? Something to think about Pencil on A4 watercolour paper.

25.01.2022 Sunsets + salt water Painted a while back from a shot by the very talented @mialmaphotography

24.01.2022 The last month or so has been quite slow for me creatively and it can feel a bit strange- even daunting- wondering how to get back in the swing of making art. However over the last few days I’ve pulled out paintings I started years ago not knowing how to finish them at the time but suddenly having the answer. Trust the process, trust the timing, it all has a way of falling into place

24.01.2022 Happy Friday, I hope it’s a cracker! Sulphur crested cockatoo, pencil on @strathmoreart toned paper (100% recycled and 30% post- consumer fibre), A3. Drawing Australia’s beautiful wildlife using environmentally sustainable materials makes me very happy

22.01.2022 pencil, work in progress

22.01.2022 Peachy skies + teal seas This little watercolour was painted for @sunlightcentre #anon2020 art exhibition and I’m super happy to hear it’s found a new home Anon is running over the next few days at Westfield Carindale, so if you’re in the area make sure you pop in and pick yourself up some original artwork! If you need another reason to treat yourself, rest assured knowing all proceeds go towards the important work Sunlight Centre does- it’s a win/win situation! You can check out Sunlight’s Facebook or Instagram for all the info

20.01.2022 Treasure of the Seas Part of a small upcoming collection of original watercolour paintings

19.01.2022 Oh hey there Jude It has been a while in the making but in just a couple of hours ‘Jude’ will be up on the website ready to bring some calming sweetness to your space. There are some creations that travel through an artists hands via their soul and other ways I don’t know how to explain, and this is certainly one of them. I wanted to honour this in some way and decided that donating a portion of profits from this print to help our beautiful koala population would be a nic...e way to fulfil this. 5% from every ‘Jude’ print will be donated to the Australian Koala Foundation. Available in A4 and A3 sizes from 7pm tonight, link will be in bio As always, thank you for your ongoing support, whether it’s a like, share, lovely comment or purchase, they are all very much appreciated x https://www.rachaelwhyteart.com.au/

17.01.2022 An inner knowing, a subtle feeling, a quiet voice guiding the way ‘Intuition’ is available online at www.rachaelwhyteart.com.au

16.01.2022 If 2020 were a book it may have got a 1-star review, been shoved to bottom of the shelf, or maybe you’re burning it while dancing around it’s ashes...? It was certainly a ride and a tough one for many but also an important part of our story. You’re here, and you did it! Pull out the lessons and let’s continue on into the next chapter, stronger and more resilient than ever Happy New Year x

15.01.2022 Do you want to go for a swim? Watercolour + gouache on A3 Arches paper.

14.01.2022 ‘Silver Lining’ has found its forever home, I’m going to miss this one. Big thank you to my new collector

13.01.2022 A Tuesday well spent. Today I went to yoga class then painted for the rest of the day- it was one of those immersive, forgot to eat, better set an alarm to pick up the kids kind of days. Painted from a photo I took last year on Cylinder Beach, right before the sun sank below the horizon. A4 watercolour. Available to purchase, I’ll add it to my website shortly.

12.01.2022 I’m really enjoying drawing on mid toned paper at the moment, it has a beautiful warmth to it. What do you think? Do you prefer a white background? This little guy is almost finished, he just needs another wing...

09.01.2022 Every artwork has a story and it’s pretty special to bring these stories to life in a visual form Throwback to a commissioned painting from a couple of years ago, acrylic on canvas.

09.01.2022 Marley + Indie. A surprise Christmas gift commissioned by Hannah for her husband Mitch. I’m so happy you both love it

09.01.2022 Purple Pippi sold over the weekend! Thank you to the collector and to the lovely Jess at @starfishstudio for hanging my art in her shop. Don’t forget you can pop over to my website to shop prints and original artwork > www.rachaelwhyteart.com.au

09.01.2022 Magpies are clever little creatures. Once they find a nice place to live, they stay for life- around 20 years- and they can remember the faces of everyone who lives in that area. _______________________________________________________ Pencil + charcoal on paper. A recent commission for a beautiful friend

09.01.2022 ‘Little Ship Club’ watercolour painting on 297 x 420 (A3) sized paper. Framed up and ready for a new home I will add it to the website soon, otherwise you can contact me directly for more info.

08.01.2022 I love nature doco’s, David Attenborough is my absolute favourite (I’m sure many of you would agree!) I downloaded his latest book today ‘A Life on Our Planet’ and you know what? I understand there are so many terrible injustices and problems in our world that absolutely need our attention but none of that work will matter one little bit if our children and grandchildren are left with a dead planet which can no longer sustain life. We are the problem AND the solution. I can ...do better and so can you. We HAVE to do better. We don’t own this land or the air or the oceans, all of the creatures have a right to be here. We are all nature. There is so much work to do but we must do it otherwise humans are on track to be an extinct species. How lucky are we to be here sharing this Earth with incredible flora and fauna. Let’s stop destroying our home

08.01.2022 Energy + persistence conquer all things [B.Franklin]

07.01.2022 Lake Hillier, Western Australia. A surprise gift commissioned by a son for his mum who loves this area in WA. Apparently the pink colour is produced by a combo of algae and bacteria living in the salty water Photo reference by Salty Wings. 40 x 50cm, acrylic on canvas.

05.01.2022 I woke up thinking that I’d been dreaming about painting, then I realised I was actually up late painting last night Quick little watercolour sketch of the bay. [sold]

05.01.2022 A glow behind the clouds grows brighter, stars fade into sky, wild ocean dancing as another day begins. ‘Wash’ an old favourite ~ Fine Art prints available in my online store x

04.01.2022 Ahh holidays, why must they end?? The past week has been an epic adventure exploring new places and soaking in all the beauty of the Whitsundays~ a slice of paradise Being in a new place really makes you think about and appreciate all the magical nature we are surrounded by every day. Clouds, flowers, trees, rivers, rocks, the stars... they’re all part of this beautiful wide world that we are so blessed to walk upon

03.01.2022 rising + falling

02.01.2022 The first painting to come from our recent Whitsundays trip. I used a reference photo I took from the boat on the way to Champagne Bay, looking towards Hill Inlet Lookout. Such an incredibly beautiful place, it’s hard to do it any justice in paint or a photograph Watercolour + gouache on A4 Arches hot pressed paper.

01.01.2022 My fiddle leaf fig still going strong If I had a dollar for every plant I’ve successfully kept alive, I would have a dollar #plantkiller
