01.01.2022 BREAKING: Parts of Queensland will go into a three-day lockdown after cases of COVID-19 transmission were detected in the community. From 6pm today until 6pm Fr...iday 2 July, residents in the local government areas of Townsville, Palm Island, Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Gold Coast can only leave home for one of these four reasons: 1. To buy essentials such as groceries or medications 2. Work or study if you can’t do either from home 3. Exercise in your local area (with no more than one person outside of your household) 4. Healthcare or to provide help, care or support Cafes, pubs and restaurants will be open only for take away or home delivery. Visitors at private homes are limited to two. Funerals are allowed up to 20 people, while weddings are allowed up to 10 people, including the celebrant and witnesses. Wear a mask when you leave home. To keep our most vulnerable safe, aged care, correctional centres, hospitals and disability service providers will close to visitors. The restrictions will be reviewed on Friday morning. These measures are tough, but they are important to keep Queensland safe. #covid19
