25.01.2022 We have been incredibly blessed to have some of the instruments lost in the fire, replaced by an organisation called Resound. They take donations of unwanted in...struments and gift them to people whove lost them in the fires. We now have a Banjo Mandolin, a Bodrahn, and a violin to replace the ones we lost We are so incredibly grateful and humbled. #musicalinstruments #bushfires #recovery #musichealsthesoul See more

10.01.2022 So sad to hear of Sonny Chuas passing. Many of my students have learnt his imaginative and whimsical pieces, full of colour, rhythmical energy, quirky titles and humour. I think of how much impact a composer has on a students life, how their music becomes part of a students own voice and expression. Condolences to Sonnys family and friends and thank you to Sonny for all you have done for our students. Here is my tribute to Sonny - Intermezzo from his Sonatina, subtitled Angel.

10.01.2022 Music can be found everywhere!

08.01.2022 Most Australians are attracted to the water that surrounds our homeland. The musical images that inspired piano works by, Lindley Evans, Frank Hutchens, Linda ...Phillips, Esther Rofe, Edith Harrhy and Meta Overman have been captured on another inspiring CD by our Jeanell Carrigan. Now we can hear some of those experiences of ours as gaze at the ocean, sail on Sydney Harbour, then be lulled to sleep on a magic Isle of enchantment. see; https://www.australiancomposers.com.au//sea-impressions-cd See more

It is an appeal supported by the music community that specifically matches musical needs to pledged instruments. Whether the lost instrument was a $30 uke or a violin worth thousands, we know how important for recovery to enable musicians to play again. This appeal is for community musicians, professional musicians, amateur musicians, music students, and instrumental music teachers of all ages and ability. Recipients An application form has been set up at www.resound.org.au for those needing their musical instrument/s replaced. If you have, or if you know someone who has, lost a musical instrument due to the fires, please go to www.resound.org.au. All applications will be considered and we intend to start replacing instruments as soon as possible. Donors If you have a spare instrument that you would like to pledge for the appeal, please fill in details at www.resound.org.au.
