25.01.2022 Always a litte art and a little science... longevity of an athlteic career is all about diligence and management! A constant oscillation between knowing when to 'push me pull me' (which for a driven athlete is often difficult) but I'm convinced being in 'tune' with these needs is the absolute holy grail. . . I'm grateful that I can call upon the incredible depth of knowledge my pre cycling @sydney_uni B.App.Sc (Physio) degree - comprehensively understanding the inner wiring of the extrordinary human body - its capacity to withstand stress adapt and recover and perform is an amazing phenomenon not to be taken for granted!
20.01.2022 If you dont have any shadows you're not in the light - Lady Gaga . . One of the most remarkable things about being a road cyclist (when we're not blinded by sweat / sunscreen turning ourselves inside out doing interval training ) is the beauty of noticing how light touches everything differently... the same view can be worlds apart at a different times of the day or year. Yesterday was one of those days, the storm had washed away the intense humidity, the sky crystal clear, the sun a little lower, and leaves begin to turn colour. There is a magic of moving oneself in nature, becoming immersed in it, marvelling at it's beauty and being completely energised in return!
18.01.2022 Four years ago today @ausolympicteam It took me a little while to find cycling but as long as I remember I've had an insatiable unrelenting desire to be an athlete, to live and breathe athleticism. Both the pain and the joy are equally pivotal in challenging my body mind and spirit to the highest level I can go, fuelled by those three beautiful words - Citius, Altius, Fortius.

16.01.2022 Peekaboo Time to come up for air after a big 'home turf' training camp in prep for the Giro Rosa. I felt like I needed to excuse limited content recently, then flipped it into an opportunity to reflect & bring to light a little reality... Spending hours to curate perfect posts these days becomes difficult & if I'm honest a source of pressure and anxiety. I know I speak for so many athletes in the same boat beginning to realise the double edged sword, a help and a hindrance ...all at the same time. 'Digital nutrition' is a thing. Use digital media, don't let it use you! Being selective with energy poured into digital gains - an increasingly necessary attribute I think to navigate our digital connected world these days. Number of 'k's is not a quick grab success measure, more importantly nor should it cause excess stress in what is already a pressure filled enough daily existence. That is my conscious choice, be deliberate, intentional, performance first. I always laugh when people ask what I do in my spare time. Aside from the daily hours on the bike there is always a full agenda. Reality is that physical performance is what athletes do. Both hands on deck being the best athlete I can be often leaves screen time to slide way down the priority tree. Humility & authenticity is at the core of who I am, I remain true to this across everything I do. I would love to be more, share more & give more but I have realised more is not always the answer. Instead, quality ideas, concepts, philosophies, sharing meaningful stories to enrich lives of others - that is what encapsulates 'my why'. Small slices of insight / empowerment to others by sharing my story in the ways I know how can make ripples travel far & wide. That my friends I believe is a big win in this bigger race called 'life' A good little question though - perhaps images cross eyed dribbling post max interval sets covered in sunscreen sweatroad grit what people actually want to see here? 14.01.2022 Finding our feet! Stage race number one for us @casadoradawct New teammates, new staff, material, new races, new challenges everywhere in one of the most logistically involved sports in the world... but with an experienced passionate and committed group of people anything is possible
14.01.2022 Nine days, six big hearts, a dedicated passionate team of staff @casadoradawct in our first @uci_wwt Happy to be over the finish line of @girorosaiccrea racing over 975km & 15,800m vertical... It certainly wasn't my race here, but took every day as a new chance and kept positively looking for every opportunity possible. Disappointing not to bring home any 'results' but I'm super happy to have had the opportunity to get some solid racing in the legs now in prep for big one day races on the program the rest of the season starting with @imola_er2020 in a week from today! 01.01.2022 Don't look back, you're not going that way... . . . Sadly no start for us at @strade_bianche this year and I desperately missed racing such an epic and beautifully hard race so close to home on Tuscan roads. Mental flexibility is certainly the theme of 2020 and the focus just gets calmly re-placed.
