17.01.2022 This is a case for why you should bring your furmily to your weddings Matt and Bree were talking non-stop about @dudley_the_english_staffie ever since the first day we’ve met. Needless to say, this chap stole my heart when we first met during Matt and Bree’s rehearsal. So on the wedding day, Dudley was fortunate enough to have @ashleighleecedogtrainer as his special date. She did a wonderful job by making sure that he was paired with her, washed and dressed handsomely befo...re the ceremony. However, Dudley wasn’t being quite himself right until the point when this picture was taken. As I was taking the shot of him lying on Bree’s dress with his eyes closed, I saw tears in Ashleigh’s eyes as she uttered: all he wanted was his mumma. 15.01.2022 Taking a special moment to honour Karen for this Mother’s Day. Karen was a loving mother to her daughter (Bree). Despite our short encounter, I had the privilege of witnessing first-hand how much she cared for Bree. It was the winter of 2017 when Bree’s now husband, Matt hired me to photograph their proposal. Karen was the one who blindfolded and dropped Bree off at the foreshore for the secret proposal. The rich, warm hues of the setting sun was a perfect backdrop as Matt d...ropped down to one knee and asked if Bree would marry him. Karen joined the happy couple again after the successful proposal, to celebrate in her daughter’s joy. Two months before the wedding, I was deeply saddened to hear from Bree that Karen was diagnosed with a terminal illness. The chances of having Karen walking her daughter down the aisle was slim. In the Spring of 2019, Karen was too weakened to travel to Bunbury for the wedding. As I photograph the ceremony, it felt like a bittersweet occasion for Matt and Bree to celebrate their wedding without Karen. In an attempt to make up for her absence, Matt and Bree decided to hold a second wedding ceremony at the chapel of St John hospital where Karen was undergoing medical treatment. I humbly accepted Matt’s invitation to photograph the ceremony. There was nary a dry eye that day, as Karen got to witness first-hand Matt and Bree recite their vows to each other. Shortly after the ceremony, Karen went into palliative care and has since passed on. Majority of the photos have been converted to black and white, to better convey the emotional feel of each captured moment. I remain humbled by Matt and Bree’s invitation to be their photographer. It has been my absolute privilege to be able to journey with them. #perthweddingphotographer #perthphotographer #mothersday
