15.01.2022 A happy and blessed Easter to all our friends and helpers!

14.01.2022 "When Our Lady appeared to St Bernadette in 1858, the now famed and beautiful grotto, was nothing more than the local rubbish dump. She appeared to a simple girl in a dump of place. I love the symbolism of this. Our Immaculate Queen and Mother is not afraid to draw to close to us, to enter into the messiness and brokenness of our lives. She waits at the Grotto for us and bids us to come to her. This is the place and point of encounter, not in some imagined place where I have got all my stuff together but here and now exactly as I am. It is here that she comes to touch the hurt, pain, sorrows and trauma of abuse with her gentleness, with her presence, her smile and gaze."

14.01.2022 What do you think? Triggers can be a shortcut to unresolved pain - and if you can learn to sit with the pain and work through it, the trigger becomes less sensitive. Simply knowing your triggers is the first step in self-care - the next step is listening to the trigger, and paying attention to what its pointing to inside you. Everyone wants to heal without pain or effort - who doesnt? But the flight from pain is costing us billions in mental health care and dubious drug prescriptions, as well as substance misuse. How do we teach a sedated society - a numbed society - about the gift of discomfort? Pain is Gods megaphone.

12.01.2022 "From a worldly point of view everything may seem very dark; your dedication may seem unproductive and a failure. But do not be afraid: you are on Gods path. "...Let not your hearts be troubled: believe in God; believe also in me." I am walking on ahead of you and blazing the trail of Christian love for you. It leads to your most inaccessible brother, the person most forsaken by God. But it is the path of divine love itself. You are on the right path. All who deny themselves in order to carry out loves commission are on the right path. Miracles happen along this path. Apparently insignificant miracles, noticed by hardly anyone. The very finding of a Child wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a mangeris this not a miracle in itself? Then there is the miracle when a particular mission, hidden in a persons heart, really reaches its goal, bringing Gods peace and joy where there were nothing but despair and resignation; when someone succeeds in striking a tiny light in the midst of an overpowering darkness. When joy irradiates a heart that no longer dared to believe in it. Now and again we ourselves are assured that the angels word we are trying to obey will bring us to the place where Gods Word and Son is already made man. We are assured that, in spite of all the noise and nonsense, today, December 25, is Christmas just as truly as two millennia ago. Once and for all God has started out on his journey toward us, and nothing, till the worlds end, will stop him from coming to us and abiding in us." - Hans Urs von Balthasar, Into the Dark with God: A Christmas Meditation on the Incarnation, for a Troubled World.

01.01.2022 "Post-abortive women and men are agonizing silently over a choice that they cannot take back. Worse, amidst the silence of their church leaders, these post-abortive individuals may come to believe that they are beyond mercy and redemption as a result of their actions. This is antithetical to the redemptive work of Christ and the evangelical calling of the Christian faithful."
