24.01.2022 Someone told me I have a super power for being able to help other people feel better. I've worked out I actually possess a couple of others too. I can disappear... in a good book I can fly... through my Facebook feed I can see through things... especially my glasses... What super power do you have?

17.01.2022 The new NDIS Price Guide is out. I'll let you know what I think once I've reviewed it in full later today. Here's the link:

15.01.2022 BIG NEWS! From 1 October 2019 disability-related health supports will be supported through NDIS funding. If you are having a plan review after this date then t...hese supports will be added to your new plan. If you have a current plan unspent Capacity Building or Core Support funds can be used to purchase the necessary allied health and nursing supports. We are very excited about this news and what it will mean for so many of our wonderful families who have struggled to pay for nutritional supports and other disability related expenses out of their own pockets while the disability and health systems fought over who should pay for what. We have advocated in many forums for these types of supports to be funded. I know sometimes change feels slow but this is significant progress. Together we can change the system to be better for people with disability. Here is more information for participants: https://www.ndis.gov.au//disability-related-health-support

14.01.2022 Welcome to 2020! 2019 was hectic so for 2020 I am aiming to slow my pace but continue to make rapid progress . I don’t normally do food pics but was eating breakfast this morning and realised so far in 2020 I already:... 1. Slept in after a fun filled late night/early morning (those who know me well know sleeping past about 5am is a miracle for me) 2. Started my day drinking water 3. Ate a bunch of these tasty little combos of bocconcini, fresh basil and cherry tomatoes for breakfast along with a couple of olives 4. Smashed out some research writing for my PhD (one day I’ll get that sucker finished ) 5. Weeded a garden bed 6. Played with my dogs 7. Dealt with a few emails One thing that I’ve found has helped me a lot that some might find surprising is avoiding alcohol and stimulants eg coffee. It means that even after a late night I can wake up with a clear head and do things. I know it’s not for everyone but I have really enjoyed my start to 2020 so far.

04.01.2022 Happy International Women’s Day. Sometimes it’s easy to forget the contribution women make to individuals, families, communities, countries and the... world. According to Oxfam women contribute 10.9 billion dollars worth of unpaid labour each year. Much of the work women do is thankless so we’d like to take a moment today to express our gratitude to some very special women. Thank you to mothers everywhere who gave of their body to create and birth new life. Some of you have done so under extreme circumstances and at real risk to yourself - thank you. Thank you to grandmothers, aunts, cousins, sisters, mothers in law and all the other women who, as part of an extended family network, support, teach, love, nurture, raise, lead and set good examples for children. Thank you to adoptive, foster and step mothers who love another’s child as though they were their own. Thank you to the many many women who are unpaid carers looking after those who need so much more than formal systems provide. Thank you to female neighbours, friends and members of the community who offer smiles, kind words, acts of service and a suspension of judgement and unconditional love to help someone's journey through life be a little brighter and smoother. Thank you in advance to the girls who will be future leaders by contributing positively to the progress of humanity in their sphere of influence. We are cheering you on! Thank you to women of all ages, cultural backgrounds, religions, sexual orientation, personality, physical and mental capabilities who help make the world a richer place by simply being their own authentic, genuine self. Thank you to every woman who has stood up, spoken up, shaken up and been relentless in advocating, fighting for and insisting on better treatment of women, children and humanity now and throughout history. Some may attack you using unsavoury words and even various forms of violence. Thank you for being willing to be a target to protect others. We have a team of strong, intelligent, caring, dedicated and talented women at TAG (plus a few good men who also fit these descriptors ). It is an honour to see them each and every day try their best to use that dedication and skill to help others. Thank you women of TAG for all you do, keep up the good work!
