16.01.2022 It feels so wonderful to be painting again. My life is a bit crazy at the moment but I found a little bit of time to have a go at a watercolour. Im new to the medium. All my other art stuff is packed up. My inspiration came from my sons photos @huntingforparadise Hes off on an adventure with his new camera. His last free dive was epic but the area was full of floating plastic. Its killing our oceans. Single use plastic just has to stop. There is so much you can do to decr...ease the amount you use. 15.01.2022 Just finished hiking the Cinque Terre trail in Italy. What an amazing hike. Totally loved it. The views are breathtaking. I had the first half all to myself nearly. Got a bit busy towards the top end. The path gets quite tiny towards the north. Totally worth all the effort. I hiked from Corniglia to Monterosso as the first 2 sections were closed because of land slides. If you ever have a chance to hike here..... 13.01.2022 Finally manged to find an art shop today so treated myself to some pencils. Ive never sketched like this before. I found this amazing doorway here in Lucca. I borrowed a stool from a cafe and sat in the street and just had a go. So so relaxing. Ive really missed painting. Everywhere you look in Lucca is inspirational. 12.01.2022 We are blessed to have one of the longest, continuous indigenous cultures anywhere in the world. Over 65,000 years of Aboriginal knowledge and connection to county. During my recent trip to Kakadu with @huntingforparadise we visited some ancient sites. You could actually feel the custodial ancestors as you walked around the different places in the park. It truly moved me being in the ancient and sacred sites. This painting which I painted a couple of years ago will hopefully ...draw you in and take you somewhere special. 11.01.2022 Ive woken up this morning with this wonderful feeling that has washed over me like a hug from your favourite person. Ive always had this feeling but today it has been amplified to the point it moved me to tears. Sitting quietly, alone with my hands at my heart centre I am truly grateful for everyone and everything that is in my life. Gratitude, pure gratitude. This journey has had so many layers to it, starting with the fear of the unknown and feeling lonely, to this point.... Today it feels like it all makes sense. 10.01.2022 On this day I would like to pay my respects to the oldest indigenous society on the planet and to their elders and people. The Australian Aboriginal people have lived in harmony with the land for over 55,000 years. Last year I was lucky enough to visit Kakadu National Park with my son. It had a huge impact on me. I could actually feel the ancestors who had walked before us. I found it a very spiritual place. I would like to pay my respects and acknowledge the pain and sufferi...ng the invaders of this land brought here. Please forgive us. Its a diabolical history which has been played out all to often out across our planet. If you get a chance watch a film called Kanyini. Uncle Bob Randall tells his story. 05.01.2022 Fern Pool is a scared aboriginal site at the top of Dales Gorge in Karijini National Park. Such a special place. Its the warmest of the pools in the gorge but still really cold for a swim. Very refreshing though.
