25.01.2022 Hip pain, lower back pain, painful sex, difficulty engaging and releasing your pelvic floor - any of these sound familiar to you? Or have you just been ignoring it? These are just some of the symptoms that are indicators of what’s known as a hypertonic (or overactive) pelvic floor and are a sign that you need to book into a women’s health physio ASAP! In my five years working in the pre/post partum space I’ve seen this start to become m...ore and more common but the good news is that you can do something about it, and often those pelvic floor excercises that you thought you were nailing, aren’t the best thing for it. The release aspect of your pelvic floor contraction is even more important, and just as crucial as booking that WHP appointment - stop putting it off lady and get to it quick smart. Oh and this isn’t just for new mums, it’s a message for all mums who haven’t been checked lately! Who wants to risk more damage down the track! Not me I’ll be booking my next one this week too to see how it’s tracking along during this pregnancy #educationisknowledge Want to learn more or find out how to adjust your training to suit - join us the next round of our Back to Base Online Course beginning November 1st 2020. Registration open tomorrow for a limited time or until all places are gone. www.rachjobling.com.au See more

22.01.2022 Merry Xmas from our family to yours Wishing all our friends and family a wonderful Xmas & a safe and happy new year xx

20.01.2022 Tonight marks the start of our #nomoreprebabybody campaign for 2020. I am proud to be standing with the whole Body Beyond Baby affiliate team to share this important message. This campaign began in 2019 to PUSH-BACK on the ‘get your pre-baby body back’ pressure mums feel and that the fitness industry often drives (even if we don’t realise it).... It’s about helping all women to truly understand that their worth is NOT wrapped up in the size of their body and that they do not need to strive and punish themselves to look a certain way. Our key focus for 2020 has been diversity and inclusion and we feel we have come a long way since last year HOWEVER we know not everyone that see’s our images will feel represented and so; once again we are asking for YOU to get involved and share YOUR #nomoreprebabybody message or story, to represent YOU and all women. So - now we are asking fellow mums to stand with us! To join our mission take a photograph of YOURSELF, alone, with your kids or friends wearing something that represents this message for you with the #nomoreprebabybody hashtag written on your, your clothing or the image. Tag @bodybeyondbaby and share with us (and the world) so you can be represented too & so more and more women can see that no one size fits all and we are all BRAVE and STRONG and ENOUGH We are all in this together and we can create real change!

18.01.2022 Celebrating day #2 of Miss 7 being back at school . It’s kind of weird and I actually kinda miss her a little bit but I’m pretty sure Miss 5 is very happy to finally have mum all to herself again. What’s the first thing you organised for when the kids were back at school. Mine was an obstetric appointment, exciting hey! SO nice to not have to find someone to mind the girls. It’s the little things we will appreciate so much now.

17.01.2022 Its been a wild ride of late, and along the way I've gained some fab new followers so I thought I'd share a little bit about this dark choc/beach/interior design loving mum who also happens to be super passionate about all things women's health. In a nutshell I’m a mum of two (with identical twins on the way), plus a strength and conditioning coach who specialises in post-partum exercise. I absolutely love being able to educate and help ...other mums by sharing my own learnings and experiences when it comes to all things motherhood, health and fitness. I know many can relate to the experiences that being a mom brings #goodandbad. And well, personally I’ve been there and experienced it all. As a fitness business owner, personal trainer and now an online coach, I have always had a passion for supporting women to nourish and empower their mind and body, strengthen their self-love and build their self-belief through healthy mind and movement practices. I friggen love digging deep into this stuff. Oh and I’ve recently just trialled and tested my first online course, now known as ‘the Back to Base Method’ after delivering many years of in person programs. I’m THAT excited to release our second round for 2020 with the aim of helping as many mums as possible to work through all areas of their health and fitness, particularly those where they feel most stuck, with self paced, realistic and achievable workouts, weekly coaching and education, mindset strategies and most importantly the support of health experts and a community of like-minded mums. I want every mum to know that they can create SO much change for theirselves and feel more powerful than ever! If you want to know more, head to my website www.rachjobling.com otherwise I’m here for any/all of your questions and will keep sharing as much as I can (along with lots of twin preggo spam as well) xx See more

17.01.2022 Every pregnancy experiences it’s own trials and tribulations and this one is certainly no different. When we first found out we were having twins we had no idea of how many different types there were, the increased risks associated or the number of scans we would need to have in Melbourne throughout the pregnancy. It’s full on but also amazing to be able to see our bubs so often (swipe right for the cutest 3D pics ever ). From 9 weeks we were told our babies were Mono-Di me...aning they shared a placenta yet each had their own sac. Not long after it was suspected they shared a placenta and amniotic sac. At the time stress levels were ridic high and google was banned very quickly Fortunately it was changed back and all of a sudden Mono-Di didn’t seem so bad. The biggest learning from this pregnancy (and our previous two) is that so much is out of our control and we just need to go with the flow and try and enjoy the process as much as possible, so this is my goal. Easier said than done for a Type A personality but I’m learning to let go and the combo of work/homeschool + two other active children have certainly helped keep my mind busy. I feel like five years ago when we had our last bub this stuff wasn’t talked enough about so would love to know what the biggest learning you’ve had from your pregnancies is? Were you anxious AF (I was with bub #1 initially) or able to go with the flow for the most part? #twinmum #almosthalfway #mentalhealthmatters

14.01.2022 Exercising during pregnancy is not a one size fits all... Take it from me, it’s a constant learning curve. I was 8 weeks pregnant in this pic (unbeknownst to me at the time it was with twins ). Planks are definitely not a recommended exercise in pregnancy, I did however have good core control thanks to the b2bmethod and was able to safely hold this position for the pic In an industry that is slowly making progress for pre/post natal mums, there’s still work to be done. Ev...en as a fitness professional pregnant with our second child I made mistakes prior to being trained. Since undertaking a tonne of study, completing many years working with mums/physios and the @safereturntoexercise pros I want to set the record straight. Here are a few key things to remember; Yes your OB/GP advice matters but so does that of a women’s health physio and a pre and post natal certified trainer. Education is key, the more you know the better off you will be. The ‘continue as you were pre pregnancy’ during the first trimester applies only if you have a risk free pregnancy, have obtained support from those in the know and are honouring the changes to your body. It actually depends what you were doing during that time. For eg if it was HIIT/CrossFit/powerlifting etc, there are significant risks for pelvic floor damage and more if you haven’t obtained the right breathing methods (cue intra-abdominal pressure). You may be increasing your heart rate significantly or are used to running long distance however your body has changed and the way it responds is now different to before you became pregnant. Always consider risk versus benefit. Yes exercise is amazing for so many reasons but Pregnancy is not the time to be smashing your training, hitting running PB’s and the like. Your body is going through some epic changes and just moving in ways that your body need is enough to improve your energy and give you the exercise benefits required for birth and beyond. Continue to focus on the areas that will advantage you the most for labour/mental health and post birth recovery. Strength training, breathing techniques and core connection, walk, yoga and stretch regularly.

09.01.2022 9 weeks versus 15+3 with x 2 My body has changed so much in six short weeks that I can’t imagine what it will be like with only another 20 max to go Whilst there’s so much more to consider this time around I’ve also been really fortunate to continue feeling pretty good the majority of the way through. ... I’m still feeling strong, fit and healthy, and although my training had to change significantly when we found out we were having identical twins, I’m keeping active and moving my body whenever I can as well as resting and listening to it when I need to. Im not exactly sure how this bod is going to carry x 2 babes and remain standing upright, whether I’ll suffer from abdominal separation, or how my pelvis will tolerate so much weight and movement but I do know that these bodies are amazing vessels and will do whatever we need to get us through. I have lots of twin mumma friends that are testament to this. My top priority is at the moment to nourish and listen to what it needs as much as I can. It’s amazing what an additional five years since your last bub can for for you So far this bod has tolerated x 2 natural pregnancies and most recently a heart surgery and you know what, it recovered like a boss! I have no doubt that with time, patience and self care it will be strong, fit and healthy again after the twins come along and are safe in our arms.

04.01.2022 Absolutely loving all things beach/coastal lately, and since we don't live near the beach I'll have to settle with dreaming of interior design and mini beach getaways instead. Anyone else loveee interior design? It's my secret career dream and my fave thing to do outside food and fitness. I love designing the kids rooms, backyard and updating new spaces in our home but often need to remind myself of the importance of channelling my inner creative (as opposed to working so much). Pinterest come at me these hols. I have a kids games room to update and a twin nursery to plan...

For those who just want to know more, be more and do more for themselves and are ready to explore deep within to evoke their healthiest self .. Our final round for our online course in 2020 drops this week. Stay tuned xx

01.01.2022 Lemon water followed by a decaf almond capp and walk, finishing with a stretch sesh... how do you choose to start the day? Pretty sure this won’t be how my mornings will@look in a few weeks time between the chaos of school and twin bubs but I’m focusing on the habits/routines I can control when things change instead of the ones I cant. Can 100% say that coffee will NOT be one of the ones that are compromised

01.01.2022 Never in my wildest dreams could I have predicted what was to come in 2020. Whilst there were many challenges there were also lots of amazing things that came out of this last year, so many learnings and aspects we wouldn’t change for the world. When I look back it was a humongous year, from closing my fitness business doors & moving to a virtual and online model of training with only one staff member all the while navigating homeschool and solo parenting and just trying to s...urvive in general. On the other side I never would have had the confidence to permanently move my Back to Base Method and PT fully online (even though I’d wanted to do this for years) had it not been for COVID occurring when it did. I got to spend more time with my kids, our loved ones and our closest friends (once lockdown was lifted), and one of the best parts, found out we were pregnant with twins on the first day of the second lockdown. Im not sure what 2021 will hold, and I totally get why people would want to see the back of it, there are elements I never want to experience again but also things I’ll be forever grateful for. Wishing everyone a Happy New Years, let’s hope 2021 is kinder to us all. A big thank you to all those that supported the business, stuck by me whilst I pivoted the business and in particular those family and friends who were our rocks while we navigated this pregnancy journey with regular Melb visits and restrictions. Will never forget your kindness xx
