10.01.2022 To the person who pulled up my husband in the street at 7.15am this morning to advise him that we have advertised we are open at the bakery today (showing him some screenshot of somewhere on the internet) and then said we are bad at business for not opening when we say we are & we must be making lots of money if we can afford to close. 1. This is a screenshot from the first image that appears on our website clearly stating that we are closed for 5 days (1 of which is a public... holiday & 1 of which we aren’t usually open anyway so 3 actual days of normal trading). 2. There has been a sign on our shopfront for weeks saying the same. 3. If giving your staff 5 whole days off and the bakery a break to clean and reorganise after the busiest time of year in what is now the quietest time of the year (too hot for pies for most people & everyone is away) makes us bad at business, then ok, we are bad at business. 4. We personally are not taking a break, we will be cleaning and restocking so our staff can come back to a fresh work environment & be inspired for 2020 5. You clearly have never worked in a small business that supplies perishable products & has the highest wage to turnover percentages of any industry or you wouldn’t assume that because we can afford to close for 3 actual trading days we must be rolling in it. It costs us a lot personally to close even 1 day & I will start 2020 carefully balancing my expenses & stressing for the next month as a result. So here is some advice for you. If you ever want to know what’s going on in a business, don’t google & use some generic piece of info you found - go to a business’ official website or even Facebook and get info there before you abuse the owners. Sadly I don’t have enough time to trawl the internet and change every random site that appears with our regular trading hours. I am busy doing holiday pays, cleaning, learning how to patch bakery tiles on YouTube, running our other business & raising 2 very tolerant little people on school holidays, who get their parents undivided attention over Xmas for a mere 3 days (Xmas, boxing & New Year’s Day) & then spend the rest tagging along with us to work. Thank you and happy New Year. We will be re-open as per below on Jan 6th as usual. On a positive note I should thank you for loving our product so much that it inspires such passion,
