22.01.2022 We also service shocks manufactured by other companies. We have had a run of Penske units recently off a TA2 Muscle car & some Reds off a speedway car. If you are serious about winning then send your shocks to us for a quick inspection & dyno check for the start of 2021. Both of these shocks despite different motorsport categories were suffering from too low gas pressure as shown on the force vs displacement graph. On one the cavitation discoloured the shims. We balanced the internal valving for less hystereis & more damping force which allows the owner to optimize the gas pressure for tuning. 06.01.2022 We haven't had much down time this week as we are in full swing with prep work for the 2020 season. Some Sachs dampers in for a quick check over. The damaged shock is off the WA state championship winning ex-Supercar of Grant Hill. Luckily it was a clean break at the eyelet thread & no internal damage occurred despite the large bend in the shaft & was an easy fix. The other set are off an ex-DJR Super3/V8 Touring car owned by Jason Foley. These had a major rebuild 18 months a...go & were in for a inspection. A quick dyno run & they were still like new. We have limited time remaining for service work leading up to Christmas. 01.01.2022 Prior to the 2nd lockdown in Victoria, we completed some suspension mods for a Porsche 987 Boxster for track day running. Some before & after shots of parts we have replaced & fitted. The shocks are Motion Control Suspension 2-way adjustable units, compression & rebound non remote canister systems fitted with Eibach twin coil over spring arrangement. The adjustable strut mounts were supplied by USA Porsche aftermarket specialists Tarett Engineering for the rear & Elephant Rac...ing for the front. We are an Australian dealers for all three USA brands for those looking to modify your Porsche for track days. The front lower arms were replaced with billet made adjustable units for wheel track, camber & caster & new ball joints from Elephant Racing. The steering arms were also replaced with bump steer adjustable items to ensure they had better angularity with a lower ride which was approximately 20-25mm lower than standard. The roll bar drop links were replaced with adjustable Tarett Engineering items to ensure the corner weights were not affected by poreload settings.. The rear dampers have a large gas chamber to ensure the exhaust pipes do not overheat the shock which is a common problem for these cars when pushed hard. This is an important consideration when purchasing aftermarket shocks. The spring rates are higher for track work but not out of the window for driving on the street. The rear subframe is also an issue for these 987's for movement under high lateral forces. Via Tarett Engineering, we purchased a Rennline subframe stiffener which will resist movement & reduce tyre wear. Have a look at the pictures & let us know if you have any questions.
