25.01.2022 I was not surprised when I attended Hawkesbury Race Club on Sunday that around 5 well know racing participants Trainers ,Jockeys and Stablehands had never heard of the Racing NSW initiative that was rolled out in 2016/17. I’m interested to know if YOU have heard of it.

09.01.2022 Yesterday I went to the races and had a great day catching up with trainers, jockeys and jockey mentors. One trainer who is a former jockey, is also passionate about the welfare of jockeys and racing participants came and told me a heart breaking story of a former jockey, father and grandfather who suicided last week. So terribly sad and devastating for the family he has left behind. Hearing stories like this reminds me of why I am so passionate about helping my fellow comrades #ruok #reachout #racingwelfarecounsellor

08.01.2022 I’m looking at combining my two pages together to make it manageable. Originally I want to to focus my work in the racing industry, however as Racing NSW Have not supported me in my passion, I have no other option then to go solo. Samantha Gordon Counselling is currently counselling professionals in all areas including Horse Racing, current jockeys, trainers and retired jockeys. Also participants from Greyhound Racing are seeking support, while all general counselling is provided to individuals and families outside of these codes.
