25.01.2022 This was a fun rebuild on Louis' Champione. We swapped the drops for a more upright lease on life with Salsa Bend bars and Thomson stem, converting to a 1x drivetrain with an Apex1 RD, X7 shifter and Sunrace 11-42t 10s cassette being twirled by a Wolf Tooth chainring supplied by our rad friends at @commutercycles, all being stopped by the great value Shimano MT520 4 piston brakes. A great gravel/commuting build that didn't break the bank.... @sram_australia @salsacycles @bikethomson @wolf_tooth_comp @rideshimano @sunrace.br @ Brunswick, Victoria

24.01.2022 Another roadie conversion, i love these... we've been servicing Victor's TCR for a while now, and after he upgraded to a modern bike we decided to convert this for his partner Michaela to ride ! Repurposed Giant bars and stem with 2nd hand brake levers, new Sunrace 3x9 trigger shifters to move his classic 9s DuraAce groupset. Super cheap and fun result! @ Brunswick, Victoria

18.01.2022 Anyone after a bargain discounted gravel/CX bike? I have some bikes that have sat on the floor for too long. 1. Bombtrack Hook 2 2018 Med/54cm ... Was $2799 now $2299 2. Bombtrack Hook 1 2018 Small/51cm Was $2199 now $ 1799 3. Focus Mares Apex Carbon 2018 Was $3499 now $2499 4. Focus Mares Tiagra Alum 2018 Was $2169 now $1769

17.01.2022 I've just installed the biggest faceshield on the street ! I scored 2 cheap sheets of acrylic from a local supplier and recycled the picket fence from the front of Acustico to make myself a window to allow some facial recognition and yummy vitamin D to flow through. Also an PSA update; according to guidelines at the moment I am only able to service bicycles for essential workers, or do emergency repairs for bikes needed for shopping or care. If you'd like an update to your a...lready awesome bike or a particular accessory then I am able to sell you the items needed in a 'Click and Collect' fashion. If your bike is your only transport and is rendered unsafe/unusable then i can make the necessary adjustments to make it safe/usable ie snapped cable/flat tyre; i just can't do general servicing. Also touching/trying on apparel can't be done, as is borrowing tools or a pump at the moment, sadly 'communal' isn't a much of a thing these days. Thank you again for your support and patience, from bringing in busted bikes to facemasks and lasagnes and pats for James, this has been a testing year to start a business whilst personally already suffering anxiety and depression. I feel for everyone else going through the same; know that you're not alone and there is love and support out there if you reach for it, i have been/am terribly guilty of not reaching out myself. I'm definitely not perfect but i only do this from the heart. If I can't fix your bike maybe I can suggest a good movie or song to listen to. Big love to Melbourne peeps and all elses x . . . . . #shoplocal #supportyourlocalbikeshop

17.01.2022 Throwback build time; this is a custom build from last year for my friend Innika. My mate @joey_pineapple had 2 frames custom built in Taiwan and Innika was lucky enough to score his spare one. The titanium frame is steered by Chris King headset and Columbus carbon fork, Easton riser bars and OEM stem. I custom built her wheelset as well, they are H Plus Son Archetypes laced with DT Swiss Comp spokes to Phil Wood hubs wrapped in Vittoria rubber. SRAM Omnium cranks with Izumi... chain. Thomson seatpost and @skingrowsback handlebar bag finish off a superb setup. I've never been so jealous of someone elses build ! . . . . #bike #custombike #bikemechanic #tibike @ Radhaus Brunswick See more

17.01.2022 This is my Curve GXR / Kevin of Bacon ! After the last post I realised I haven't officially shown my own @curvecycling build. I got this frame after I started working @jetnikoff in Northcote (funnily enough the ex-Curve HQ) and it has been constantly evolving since I've had it. I've run 2 different wheelsets and a few different bar setups. I love the versatility of this frame. Current setup:... Curve GXR Titanium Large/58cm frame with Adv carbon fork SRAM Force 11 groupo, 38t ring/10x42t cassette, XX1 BB30 cranks, Look S-track pedals. Paul Klamper flat mount brakes, 160mm XT rotors (I've had to run the brake line externally F&R as the calipers run the cable too far outboard) Son Deluxe dynamo front hub, Chris King ISO rear with DT Comp laced to Curve 30x30 32h 27.5 carbon rims (built by yours truly of course, they are bombproof and ive only had to touch up the rear once ) Maxxis Ardent Race 27.5x2.25 (measure over 2.3 on these rims) KS Lev Si dropper post (routed to my LH shifter) with WTB Rocket saddle Control Tech 46cm gravel bars, Thomson X4 80mm stem, SupaCaz Kush tape @skingrowsback handlebar roll and saddlebag Sinewave light, Moon light/garmin/gopro mount. I've found myself commuting on this a lot so I'm going to play with an urban setup next, I have some Gravelking slicks that I think will look nice on this. If you're wondering, the saddlebag is being held up by some @problemsolversbike Bow Tie Anchor strap. Also I hope @quadlockcycle don't mind i made a custom topcap mount. Photos taken near Royal Park on my long way within 5km of home. I'm looking forward to Spring and some brighter days ahead. Big love x . . . . . . #bike #bikelove #bikemechanic #tibike #gravelbike #cxbike #curvegxr #curvekevin #kevinisaplaceonearth #kevinbacon

16.01.2022 Simple single speed conversion on Tyke's Jamis. Because sometimes you get tired of bending hangers whilst slaying it to school and trails. Taya chain and Surly steel cog. .... . . . . #bike #bikelove #mtb #singlespeed #jamisdragonslayer

13.01.2022 Always a pleasure see Scott and his Rocky Mountain Vertex; if I'm seeing these two together then i know that he is out getting 'me time'. This visit he decided to treat himself and drop the pin on a new KS Lev Si dropper post. This install ended up being a fiddly one but i love working out solutions. It's a shame that sometimes all the hard work is the stuff you can't see ! I'm going to jargon out a bit here.. The tricky part was that the frame had an internal route port but... it didn't accept an outer gear housing to run through, and also the port was carbon molded and I like to avoid modding carbon as much as I can. I managed to butt another outer housing to the inside of the frame which then runs down well clear of the BB up to the post. The standard dropper lever also didn't allow us to anchor the cable without a head so i used another lever i had In the workshop to clamp the cable instead. I really like this lever as it runs either a cable head or a bare cable. I can't remember where I got it from, does anyone recognise it ? Please let me know if you know what it is ! @ Brunswick, Victoria See more

13.01.2022 This is Scout's Omnium Cargo ! Scout brought in the 'Hardcore Pink' frame and most of the build kit and I helped supply some new wear items such as BB, chain and cable/hose. We ran SRAM X-5 with a Rival chainring I had lying around. They managed to find some 2nd hand Shimano MT420 brakes and I obviously had to lengthened the hose to reach out front. The Easton post and Brooks saddle and Thomson front steering bits were also all supplied by Scout. Don't mind the steerer sta...ck or cable routing, we'll be chopping and readjusting as Scout gets themselves comfortable in the next few rides. We had a few setbacks during this build but it has been worth the wait ! I bet it tastes like sherbet but I can't lick other people's bikes at the moment. . . . . . #bike #bikelove #bikelife #bikeshop #bikemechanic #supportyourlocalbikeshop #cargobike #omniumcargo

13.01.2022 This is Alan's KHS Flite I've been a close friend of Alan for about 15 years and we've worked as bike couriers together in Perth and Melbourne and raced events around the country. This bike has been retired from almost a decade of bike messenger work and has parts that have been in the hands of courier royalty and has been raced in events around the world. Now it's ready to shuttle Alan to his new essential job and to cart around his little bubba instead of lever arch folders.... We rebuilt his trusty Phil Wood hubs with DTs to some brand new classic Velocity A23 rims. Fresh Izumi chain with a dingle speed White Industries freewheel to go with his Velosolo chainring. If you haven't seen one, that's a double cogged 17t and a 19t freewheel which he can swap between with a twist of a spanner for slow or fast paced rides. If you're wondering, that's a porteur messenger rack made by my mate Dave @cawkedbikes . This was made for the 2015 Cycle Messenger World Championship in Melbourne and yes, it's stainless steel and I also really think Dave should start making more of these and if you do too then please message and bug him about it like I do. . . . . . #bike #bikelove #bikemechanic #singlespeed #trackbike #dinglespeed #khs #bikecourier #bikemessenger #fahrradkurier #porteur #porteurbike #porteurrack

12.01.2022 This Jacob's new Curve GXR/Kevin of Steel ! This frameset was built up using all of his Rival groupset and Fulcrum wheelset from a Giant TCX which was sadly taken off the road earlier after a recent road accident, but with a spruce up of wear items like chain/cable and pads/rotors. Stoked to see another @curvecycling released on the street. Glad to see you riding again and thanks for supporting your locals Jacob !... . . . . . . #bike #bikelove #bikemechanic #gravelbike #cxbike #curvecycling #curvegxr #curvekevin #kevinofsteel #steelisreal #flatpedalswinmedals @ Radhaus Brunswick See more

11.01.2022 This is Hamish's custom Peugeot ! The frame was sprayed by Hamish himself and the new decals were also sourced by him. I provided new brakes and drivetrain parts to make a rad mixed groupset, including that gnarly Red ring up front.. Mavic wheels and Michelin tyres to keep with the French theme and Brooks saddle and grips provide some classy contact points. .... . . . . #bike #bikelove #bikemechanic #custombike #peugot #savetheratbike @ Radhaus Brunswick See more

11.01.2022 Today is our birthday! Today marks one year of trading as Radhaus. They say your first year is the hardest, and with this pandemic taking up most of the year I'm happy to get through it. I've lost a lot of sleep and gained a couple of grey hairs but I'm happy to get through this tough time and am excited to see what the next year brings. Being a start up means i haven't had the same assistance other businesses have received, and traffic on the path has diminished but with the amazing support of locals I am booked up almost 2 weeks ahead with no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Thank you so very very much to everyone for your support. I love you all and hope we can all go for a ride sometime soon. X @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

09.01.2022 Nathan's custom Giant Kronos. . It has been difficult for Nathan to find a frame being 6"8, so I was stoked to see this come together. He brought the frame and front wheel and an assortment of parts. To match the front wheel I built up another H Plus Son Archetype with DT Comp spokes to a Chris King mtb hub. The drive train is 9spd and a mix of Alivio shifting, SLX derailing, 105 cranking and Wolf Tooth chainringing. Inexpensive and decent. Thomson post to keep that tall gu...y reliably high and Panaracer Gravelkings to keep in contact. Nathan also dropped in the Cinelli Mash porteur rack, clearance was super tight but still fun to fit. 08.01.2022 New paint who dis It's been a long time coming... Mega thanks to @theohartman for helping me refresh the new shopfront. It feels good to put my own clothes on. I'm sorry I'm not a prolific poster, it doesn't come naturally these days as i have personal reservations but i will endeavour to open up a bit more and bring a bit of content that I'm comfortable with. ... Thank you to everyone who has supported and helped get me this far, you know who you are and I love you. B @ Radhaus Brunswick

06.01.2022 Doing our part to save the Rat Bike, this is Declans Top Gun ! With a damaged rear aerospoke we did a hub swap, squeezed some more life out of a seized stem and headset, brake swap and tune and a new sealed bottom bracket. We love fixing up old bikes and are happy to meet budgets. We can appreciate not everyone is an elite cyclist or health-nut, if you're not too sure whether or not to spruce up your treadly feel free to come have a chat. ... 05.01.2022 Two mini resto's this week; Charley's Repco received a fresh cockpit and cables, we reused a few old parts and mixed in some new ones to give her a new summer commuter. Mark's Holstar was a hand-me-down and inactive for a good while. We gave it a V brake upgrade and a tune up and is the start of what will be a really fun build. 05.01.2022 *still open for business* I'm grateful to still be able to trade during Stage 4, I'll hustle as long as I can to repair bikes for transport and physical/mental health machines. I don't rely on sales of parts and accessories so this is crucial for a wee workshop like mine. All of my suppliers are still moving so I'm still able to order any parts for your builds or services and I'm going to organise something with my old bike courier friends. I can facilitate contactless transa...ctions; the roller doors are down but we can liaise via phone/webs, and we still have sanitised locks and racks out front for safe interchanges. I'm currently trying to sort out a decent booking/payment setup but for now I can send you a Paypal link or we can do a bank transfer. Melburnians, stay safe and be good to each other and to yourself. Get out for your 60 minutes of local fame, here is a site to help you find your 5km radius - https://www.vic.gov.au/coronavirus-5km-from-home-map. I won't be riding the Yarra trails for a while but i found out the Quarry Mtb park is just within my circle. I wish you all massive positive vibrations. X B @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

03.01.2022 New bike day ! I have been servicing and dealing Bombtrack bikes for about 2 years now and i have been impressed with all of the bikes that have come through. It was my birthday last week and the peeps @linksportsau gave me the heads up on a Beyond Plus ADV and i couldn't say no ! I'm still having fun playing around with the setup but so far I've swapped out the Jones bars for a Spank Spike35 and Ergon GS1 grips, KS Lev Ci 175mm dropper, my trusty Burgtec Mk4 pedals and tube...less Maxxis Chronicles. This current setup weighs 12.3kg, i can't get over how light and nimble it is for a big-wheeler. I could not be more stoked on this thing ! 02.01.2022 Fresh attire/fresher tyres for Will's Cotic ! Getting ready for the damper dirt months to come, we threw on some new Maxxis treads, a Minion 2.5 front and an Aggressor 2.5 rear, topped up the Orange Seal tubeless sealant and then gave the bike a clean and lube.
