24.01.2022 Over the weekend, just before the U.S. election, New Yorkers put the far right on notice in a demo organised by United against Racism and Fascism. 24.01.2022 Help stop this bill! One Nation MP Mark Latham has presented a bill to the NSW Parliament, which would prohibit schools from teaching about gender diversity or supporting trans and gender-diverse students. Whether we live in NSW or elsewhere, we have to send an overwhelmingly powerful message that this won’t be tolerated anywhere. Information about Latham’s bill is in the petition below. Please sign and share. https://www.change.org/p/department-of-education-prevent-to

21.01.2022 Statement from Radical Women and Freedom Socialist Party: "As the U.S. president threatens to steal the 2020 election outright, voting is taking place in an atm...osphere of chaos, intimidation, polarization and uncertainty. And the world is watching. "What happens in the United States affects the rest of the globe profoundly... Increasingly, right-wing autocrats are in charge internationally... Along with racism, strident nationalism and a disdain for democracy, they share an antagonism toward the rights of women and LGBTQ+ people."

18.01.2022 Journalist Claudia Ciobanu tells how massive protests in Poland, led by young women against an anti-abortion ruling, have coalesced other sectors into a multi-issue protest against the rightwing government. One of the women's chants is "You shouldn't have pissed us off!" This is how it's done!

14.01.2022 Please sign to call for the immediate and unconditional release of writer, human rights lawyer, and activist Nasrin Sotoudeh. Sotoudeh, one of Iran’s most prominent voices of conscience, is currently being held in Evin prison in Tehran after she advocated on behalf of women imprisoned for protesting Iran’s compulsory hijab law. She is now in critical condition as a result of a hunger strike and must be released immediately to seek medical care. https://pen.org/sign-now-iran-must-release-nasrin-sotoudeh/

12.01.2022 Please join unionists around the world in supporting this email campaign, initiated by LabourStart, to stop the Indonesian government’s anti-worker Omnibus Bill. Women are on the front lines of massive union resistance inside Indonesia. The purpose of this bill is to raise Indonesia’s rank in the World Bank index of business/investment-friendly countries. This means greater labour flexibility, such as instituting hourly pay, decreasing severance pay, liberalising flexible-h...ours work, lowering minimum wages and making it easier to hire and fire workers. For women workers, the bill would remove various reproductive rights, such as menstrual leave and leave for giving birth or having a miscarriage, as well as family-related leave provisions. The impact of Indonesians’ civil as well as labour rights would be huge. Despite government repression of protests, Indonesian unions are fighting on. International solidarity is urgent, so please sign. https://www.labourstartcampaigns.net/show_campaign.cgi
