24.01.2022 Day one of the 2020 Mental Health Week Programme went off without a hitch. Soldiers from the 6th Engineer Support Regiment joined us today and were immediately put to the test, with a wonderful mindfulness session conducted by The Zen Zone's very own Jo Stevens. Elaine Gallagher the Wellness Ignitor, was also on hand with her Coffee Van, the Queen of Coffee was hit with everyone with her special blend of caffeine, water in a cup and made with love. ... Once again, the feedback was positive, lots of inaudible yet positive screeching from most of the participants. Tomorrow, day two of the program will see a new group of veterans with their family members, exposed to the adrenaline therapy - RAEMUS style. A shout out too, to Kristen Kennedy and her fellow team members from RSL Queensland, were on hand to show their support for the programme. RSL Queensland is the major sponsor of RAEMUS Rover Racing and it is with their support that these days are made possible. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #rslqld

20.01.2022 Remembrance Day 2020 for some of the RAEMUS Rover team is all about social distancing. RAEMUS Rover's Ian Baker and Jason Wilson will be in attendance at the same service this year whilst being almost 270km apart. Ian Baker will be the guest speaker at this years Capricornia School of Distance Educations Remembrance Day Service, at their Rockhampton Campus.... At the same time, Jason Wilson will be attending the Emerald Campus to participate in the same service. The school provides almost 660 children with their educational needs throughout Central Queensland. A team of dedicated teachers and support staff facilitate a unique style of teaching to those children who live in remote locations. Ian Baker said that given the constraints of 2020 it's even more critical now to ensure the key messages of such days as Remembrance Day is out there for the younger generation. For the children, having two veterans in attendance in their 'remote classrooms' will allow them to participate in the day in a very unique and memorable way. #rslqld #RememberToRemember #veteransqld

18.01.2022 WE NEED YOUR HELP We were shocked today to discover that thieves had broken into our container at RAEMUS PARK and had stolen a number of valuable items. RAEMUS is a not for profit organisation who has been dedicated to the running of one of Australia's most unique veterans programme. ... And as we prepare to turn engines over for yet another weekend of veterans exposure to adrenaline therapy, we do so with a few things missing and the support of many to give us the ability to still continue with the programme. BUT WE WILL ASK YOU TO keep an eye out in your neighbourhood, on the internet or in your travels for the following: RSL RAEMUS Rover Marquees x 3 DRW Brand Race suits x 2 Bell BR1 Helmets and HANS Devices in addition to race gloves, fire extinguishes and other smaller items If you or someone you know can assist, then we would ask you to please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000

18.01.2022 RAEMUS Rover's Ian Baker was fortunate in March of this year to join Marson Racing at The Mint 400, held in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event also saw the inaugural running of the Mint 400 Military Challenge which proved to be an excellent opportunity for veterans from both continents to come together under the off-road racing banner. The Challenge raised $104,689 for charities and foundations that focus on the needs of its active-duty members and veterans, with 100% of the procee...ds going directly to each of the foundations. So we were excited this week with the announcement that the Mint 400 Military Challenge will return in 2021. RAEMUS Rover will be back at this event at some stage in the COVID future, but until then, we wish our allied brothers and sisters all the best and safe racing in the meantime. #Mint400 #VeteransDay #rslqld

17.01.2022 It's been a big couple of days, and we have been overwhelmed with the offers of support that have been flowing in. Over the past eight or more years, we have steadily built up our safety and operational equipment to ensure we could always cater to the diversity within the programme, across any racetrack within Australia. The recent theft has set up back and whilst we were very grateful recently for the donation of gear for our last weekend programme, replacing our own equipme...nt is now the priority. Every donation received will go directly to assisting a veteran of the Australian Defence Force in his or her transitioning and/or the better understanding as to who they are and what they can achieve in the post-military life. Donate now at the GoFundMe page below or send us a direct message m.me/RAEMUSRover and let us know how you want to help the team. All donators and direct supporters will feature on our 2021 Sponsorship Page. They will also receive their unique 2021 "I Support Australian Veterans" logo for display on their website, in their business or on their social media pages. So from all of us here at RAEMUS Rover, thank you for helping get back on track for 2021.

14.01.2022 For those who have served Australia, Remembrance Day is particularly meaningful. It's a time to remember those who served with them and before them, as well as ...those who are still serving. For our more than 30,000 members throughout Queensland - who span a range of service histories, ages and genders - those reflections are intensely personal. We spoke to some of our members about what Remembrance Day means to them.

13.01.2022 From Central Queensland to Brisbane and from Rockhampton to students in remote Queensland, RAEMUS Rover Racing members marked this solemn day in different ways. With Ian Baker in attendance at the ‘School of the Air’ in Rockhampton, he was joined by children spanning thousands of kilometres across the state as he spoke about Remembrance Day. Meanwhile Jason Wilson was one of only 10 at his local service in Blackwater, Queensland.... Whilst further south, Morgan Appleby was standing outside the COVID barriers that were in place around the Brisbane Remembrance Day Service. Each service whilst different, still held true to essence of what today is about and no COVID disruptions or changes to the normal would take from the RAEMUS members, from marking this day in a manner that was fitting. Lest We Forget #rslqld #alwaysremember

12.01.2022 1983, Bonegilla Victoria was the starting point of the 33-year military career of RAEMUS Rover Racing's, then Apprentice Ian Baker. Over the pursuing years, Ian's passion for off-road racing would become intertwined with the gaining of knowledge of the history, of those who had served before him. 1942 was a different time, and long before the then modernised education centre known as the Army Apprentices School, Bonegilla was a tent and timber 'city' in the remote border loca...tion between New South Wales and Victoria. Then, it was the starting point for many men who went on to fight in conflicts within the Middle Easts and the Pacific Region. Lieutenant William Robertson walked through the gates of Bonegilla in August of 1942. William was born in 1919. It was a time when everyone thought that the previous year had seen the end of the war to end all wars. It was not to be the case, and at the age of 23, William would go on to become a member of the 15th Battalion AIF and serve on operations in Papua New Guinea and the Battle of Guadalcanal. At 11 am today, Remembrance Day 2020, the members of RAEMUS Rover Racing will pause and pay our respects to those who have served before us, in particular, Lieutenant William Robertson NX129772. To Lieutenant William Robertsons’ family, his son, Australian Auto Sport Alliance (AASA) Chairman - Mr Bruce Robertson and siblings, children and other relatives, we pay homage to the late William Robertson. On behalf of all veterans and the fraternity of the Australian off-road racing community, we thank you for his dedication and service on behalf of us all. 09.01.2022 This Remembrance Day, RSL Queensland is asking all Australians to Remember to Remember to commit to pausing for just one minute to remember those who gave their lives in service to their country, those who returned home injured or ill, and those who bravely serve our country today. 05.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAEME The Corps of RAEME has had a short but glorious history. It was only officially established in 1942 when the repair facilities of the Ordnance Corps (AAOC) and the Service Corps (RASC) were combined to form the Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps (AEME).... The 1st of December 1942 is generally acknowledged as the Corps Birthday because this was the date of the Order declaring the creation of AEME. In 1948 the dedicated performance of the AEME tradesman during WW2 was recognised by His Majesty King George VI when he granted the Corps the title "The Royal Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers" So today we say Happy Birthday to the Corp.

05.01.2022 RAEMUS Rover Racing is pleased to announce that the inaugural recipient of the LT W. Robertson Memorial Award is Mr Michael Marson. Michael has a long associationwith the veteran community, from playing sport in Townsville and more recent year in Off-Road Racing. These relationships exposed Michael to the mental and physical challenges faced by many veterans as part of their service.... The LT W. Robertson Memorial Award is presented to the person/s or entity that has displayed outstanding support to veterans both within the RAEMUS Rover Racing veteran support program and veterans within the off-road racing community in Queensland. On hand to present the award tonight was Mr Steven Robertson, eldest son of the late LT. William Robertson. Michael Marson is truly a veteran’s mate and an exemplary example of the quality of people involved within the off-road racing community in Australia. #rslqld Marson Racing AORRA Australian Off Road Racing Association

04.01.2022 Just over 100 years ago, Prime Minister Billy Hughes said at the time: "Our heritage, our free institutions of government - all that we hold dear - are handed back into our keeping, stained with the blood of sacrifice ... (we owe) so much, and will guard with resolute determination the privileges for which they fought and suffered." In 1918, Australia made a promise never to forget the service and sacrifice of 416,000 Australians who enlisted and over 60,000 who died. ... For over 100 years, we have kept this promise. We remember them still. Lest We Forget #rslqld #remembranceday #1minsilence
