23.01.2022 Morning light + birthday swims at Binalup. @grey.nurse @discoveralbanywa @greatsoutherntreasures

21.01.2022 Sometimes, ocean swims become epic. This beauty was the last thing I expected to see swim up beneath me this week, but that is exactly what happened. I won’t lie, initially it was the most scared I have ever been in the ocean. The fear was however quickly calmed by the most gentle and docile giant beneath me. :: A completely surreal experience. I’ve been staring at this picture all week still pinching myself, feeling so fortunate to have spent 20 minutes of my life being ...circled by this inquisitive, serene and awe inspiring giant of the sea. :: As @juliabaird so beautifully explains awe makes us stop and stare. Being awestruck dwarfs us, humbled us, makes us aware we are part of a universe unfathomably larger than ourselves. :: A reminder that we are each a small but significant part of a much greater existence. 21.01.2022 Beautiful swim along the river in East Freo this morning. Escorted by the lovely Perth river swimming folk. Thanks for the link up @lucyrgibson : a peaceful swim past the moored boats, sunrising... a welcome sanctuary in the big smoke! :: #placesweswim #oceanswimming @ East Fremantle Yacht Club

18.01.2022 We got in to all the elements today. Was windy, raining, strong current... we swam. We tried to stay warm. The occasional sting on the shoulders from the pelting rain. Then, when out and dry, I stopped for my token Insta shot, then this. Weather calm. Blue skies peaking through the clouds. It’s always worth the trip over. @grey.nurse @b_o_w_o_n_g @pavvlola @emupointcafe :: #emupoint #albanywa #swimming @placesweswim @swimlike_world @theoutdoorswimmingsociety @swimmingworldmag @swimmingwomen

15.01.2022 For now, I have closed all online bookings and new client intakes. While I am very humbled that so many people have trusted me with their healthcare journey, I now need to ensure I give my existing client base the care and time that they need. This means I need all appointment slots for the coming months to be available for existing clients to be able to access the ongoing care that is needed. :: I keep coming back to the mantra of doing less things, but doing them well. ::... As patient numbers have been growing, my limited time and attention has been reducing and I’ve found myself becoming that person who is just not getting back to people. Not how I want to practice and not the service that my patients deserve. :: Importantly, my family also need my time. Teenagers. They need time and a few well cooked meals. Time :: covid has also realigned my priorities and highlighted the lack of time I had been making for those things I love and those new things I have been wanting to try (here’s looking at those pottery sessions @teawithlucy @alisonjbtaylor). New patients, feel free to email me. I will keep a wait list and open new spaces as the become available. Existing patients- just call or email me for all follow up appointments. I look forward to maintaining a very high ongoing standard of care for my valued clients. See more

15.01.2022 So where I live, in the Deep South, there is often a pilgrimage north for the warmer, drier weather. I’m often envious of those going and often stick out the winter here in the cold. But, not this year. It’s a quick break but sure to be warm and relaxing. A rescheduled trip for the whale shark swim in Exmouth that Court and I planned to do for our anniversary. A regional border closure due to some virus doing the rounds canned our earlier plans. Now, time has come. :: I ma...y not be contactable, but if urgent, try my email. No promises! :: I can promise though to make sure your herbal tonics are ready for you before I leave, if you let me know BEFORE THE 3rd August. :: new patent intake still via waitlist, please feel free to email me if you would like to go on the list. :: can’t promise there won’t be a few random sunny shots over the coming couple of weeks See more

14.01.2022 Answering your thyroid questions in stories today..

14.01.2022 So, it turns out, you all have plenty (and some excellent) questions around sleep. To get through them all and to continue to bring you some tips around achieving your best nights sleep, I will continue to share these insights in my story. Turns out, a week not nearly long enough without some crazy 20 screen stories each day. The lovely and totes tech savvy @lauramay_nutrition has shown me that it’s a good idea to save all of these in a highlight reel. So good to have clever mates. So, I’ve started saving posts onto that little handy circle if you’ve missed any over the past few days.

14.01.2022 A terrible mid winter day on the Ningaloo Coast.

13.01.2022 I’m edible and have been shown in clinical (yes randomised, double blind, placebo-controlled) trials to exhibit some pretty impressive therapeutic actions on the nervous system. Check out stories to find out more.

08.01.2022 Could it be SIBO? :: SIBO stands for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth and is the leading cause of IBS. In clinic I also find it to be the leading driver behind food sensitivities, rosacea, iron deficiency and histamine issues. :: Most importantly it is treatable! :: I am a certified SIBO practitioner and may be able to help you. ... #sibo #ibs #naturopath #guthealth See more

08.01.2022 26 May:: National Sorry Day :: Yesterday, I enjoyed a morning swim at Binalup. Known more commonly in the Great Southern as Middleton Beach. ... . Binalup - meaning place of first light - was an important place for food and shelter for the Menang people. . I fee sad to think that we are losing these original and correct names along the way. With the name, we also risk losing the story and history. I will try to use the correct name more and share it’s story. . I am grateful to live here, on this special first people’s land. And, to be able to appreciate this magical spot with a tribe of other devoted cold water swimmers. . Embracing the ever changing oceans. . #binalup #albanywa @discoveralbanywa See more

06.01.2022 Challenge accepted. Word up to one of my all time fave women @lol_bol for the nomination. This picture triggers memories shared with two of my oldest (but not old ) girlfriends @cristinabellina @jakief :: Lucky me, to have so many incredibly strong, loyal, inspiring and supportive women in my life - lifting each other up. :: I’m hopeful for a future where my daughter will feel supported, safe, strong and valued. Go girls. X

06.01.2022 One for the ladies Looking down the flip side of 45 myself, I’m quite surrounded by this one among many of my girlfriends. It is the topic that gained most requested status on my recent poll, so here it is. A whole week dedicated to Perimenopause - on Insta stories. Keep an eye on stories over the next week + and I will post facts, tips and hopefully helpful pointers on how to manage some of the most common questions surrounding what can be best described as reverse ...puberty! :: It’s a roller coaster of symptoms often leading to symptoms of : Increased feelings of anxiety Sleep issues Weight gain Hair loss Brain fog Menstrual Irregularities Mood changes Skin changes :: So, here’s hoping I can provide a little insight into this roller coaster ride. Feel free to tag your friend who might find the info over the following week helpful. And... shoot through your questions See more

01.01.2022 26 May :: National Sorry Day .

01.01.2022 Over the next week, I’ll be talking sleep. :: I get a lot of questions via Insta on how to improve sleep. Which Herbs and nutrients best support sleep. Sleep issues are incredibly common. :: Poor sleep will worsen health conditions such as depression, lowered immune function, hypertension, anxiety, obesity and blood sugar dysregulation just to name a few. So, it’s kind of important, right? A great nights sleep will support: connective tissue repair and growth... phase 2 liver detoxification cognitive function and memory restoration - while you are sleeping your body is forming new neural pathways to help you learn and remember new information. weight management digestive function - when we rest, we digest immune function - and we all need optimal immune function right now. This list is not exhaustive, I’m just touching the surface of the importance of sleep and a few of my favourite dietary, lifestyle, nutritional and herbal interventions that have proven to help restore optional sleep in my practice. Of course, there is no, one sleep package for everyone. Sorry! The cause of insomnia needs to first be established to find the most suitable plan to restore sleep. For you, the driver may be stress hormonal changes disturbance by kids or partner digestive issues pain depression and or anxiety environmental - noise, temperature, toxins (eg. Mould) lack of exercise liver issues- yes, a direct link here with poor sleep and phase 2 detoxification. Here then lies the key to addressing your sleep issues. For the next week, insta stories will be dedicated to sleep. Feel free to add your question. I’ll discuss some favourite remedies, herbs and answer questions. You May also want to tag your friend or family member who might benefit from some of the info over the week. Hoping to add to the quality hours rest in your night. Rae x See more
