04.01.2022 ActionAid Australia, an organisation committed to furthering women’s rights in Australia and in the developing world, is seeking volunteer photographers for an event held in partnership with Sydney Comedy Festival: Frocking Hilarious, a comedy show that features an all-female line up to promote our work and brand as a women’s rights organization. Past acts have included Judith Lucy, Claire Hooper, and Lady Sings It Better. In its fifth year, this will be our biggest show yet as we take the stage at Sydney Town Hall on May 19th. This is a one-time, unpaid opportunity to help students broaden their portfolios. If you are interested, please have them send a portfolio with contact information to [email protected]

03.01.2022 Hello beyondblue community! // I am a photographer studying at Raffles College of Design and Commerce in Sydney, NSW. I’m in my final year at College and am cur...rently completing my major work. My work is based on the youth suicide crisis currently in Australia and specifically the stories of the family and friends left behind after a youth has taken their own life. I AM PASSIONATELY SEARCHING FOR SUBJECTS TO VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME TO BE INVOLVED IN MY PROJECT!!! My project is a portrait photographic series of individuals who have lost someone between the ages of 15 and 24 years old to suicide. PLEASE NOTE: YOU however, can be of any age, gender, or relationship to that person In 2015, I lost a very close childhood friend to suicide and I want to use my own personal experience and story to connect with other individuals (parents, family & friends) I want my project to hopefully be a step in the right direction to starting a shift within the youth of Australia and our community. "I BELEIVE THAT DISCUSSIONS NEED TO BE HAD AND STORIES NEED TO BE HEARD..." The photo shoots will be beginning the week starting the 24th of April 2017 over five working days // However: depending on you and your schedule - dates and times will be flexible. ++ All photo shoots will be happening in Studio at: RAFFLES COLLEGE OF DESIGN AND COMMERCE 1-3 FITZWILLIAM ST, PARRAMATTA NSW 2150, AUSTRALIA The project will be exhibited twice this year, (September & December), which will include prints of my final portraits and a hard copy in-depth book of the project as well. *** All subjects for volunteering their time will be given an A3 print of themselves & a digital copy of the book I want to get to you and your story on a personal, genuine and comfortable level. I am truly interested in what you all have to say and personally know how emotional, raw and hard this topic can be to talk about.
