24.01.2022 Today is the first day of National Psychology Week an initiative that aims to increase awareness of how psychology can help Australians lead healthier, happier and more meaningful lives. Professor Jane Andrews, Head of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Service at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, is pioneering work providing critical mental health support for chronic sufferers of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Through the generous support of our donors, the RAH Research Fund is funding ...a psychologist to provide support to inpatients at their most sick and vulnerable and ensure continuity of care once they are well enough for discharge. If you are at the RAH, pop in, maintain physical distance and say hello to our team and meet some faces from the past. We are very proud to have served the hospital community, patients and visitors for 30 years and raise more than $2 million for medical research at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.... 17.01.2022 Today is ‘World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims’ Most of us know someone who has had their life affected by road trauma. The RAH Research Fund is proud to support the Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth (P.A.R.T.Y.) Program in South Australia. ... This intensive educational program takes school students on a journey through the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit at the RAH. Over a full day, students follow the story of a young car crash victim and a teenager who has just killed his best mate. Every young person walks out with a different perspective on the impact of risk-taking behaviour and a real understanding that the choices they make can save lives. They do this in their own unique way, by literally ‘hitting the road’ on their bikes! On Saturday 28 November, they are holding their 9th annual ‘Roll the Dice’ fundraiser at the Gungellan Hotel in Freeling. Diabetes not only affects a person’s physical health, but can also impact their mental health and wellbeing.
