19.01.2022 As many of you know, as of 12pm today, the COVID-19 restrictions are being eased further, to a stage where we are allowed to have 100 people per area of the venue. However, we aren't permitted to operate our gaming machines at this stage. While this is a great step in the right direction, we are still not yet in a position to be able to open our doors. We took advantage of the lockdown to embark on a revamp of our kitchen. As a result we are not in a position to be able to ...offer any food to our patrons. This, along with wish us not being able to operate our gaming machines, we can't justify opening our doors at this stage. The government has indicated that they will consider allowing us to operate our gaming machines in stage 3 of the easing of restrictions, which will be considered in mid-July. We will be providing more update of our opening date, as we know more. We look forward to welcoming our patrons back in the near future.

Thank you to Grevillea parent, Vic Kane for being on the Board the last few years. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS Special acknowledgements to our Acacia educator, Marijke who will be retiring at the end of the year, after almost 12 years at Baringa. We also thanked three integral members of our team for their dedication to early childhood education and generously sharing their knowledge and experience with us. Vicki Joyce, Team Leader, Hibiscus Room for 24 years of service Wendy Perry, Educator, Melaleuca Room for 21 years of service Penny Anderson, Centre Cook for 18 years of service MONEY MATTERS Thanks to our Finance Director, Hairul, the Board and Centre Management for their hard work resulting in a positive financial performance after a year of uncertainty. Made possible due to the generosity of families, securing competitive funding and business initiatives. As a not-for-profit, community organisation and charity, we are excited to re-invest these funds in early childhood education for the community. As a reflection of this period and to provide reprieve for families, the Board has undertaken the annual review of fees and have decided to keep fees as they are, and defer adjustments until mid 2021. IN GRATITUDE As we come to the end of the year, we reflect on how much our Baringa children bring us joy. We thank them for allowing us to learn as much from them as they do from us. We are grateful to our amazing families for trusting us and making Baringa their home. We thank the Board for their many long, voluntary hours behind the scenes, supporting us and making sure Baringa’s future is bright. And to our educators and staff your openness, dedication and fun attitude is what makes us the Baringa Family. Thank you for being you.

12.01.2022 Following an announcement from the Chief Minister, where it was announced that the ACT will be moving into stage 3.1 of the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, we will be opening our doors on Monday 10 August at 9:00 AM. We will be opening with all our amenities, however we will only be able to offer limited food options as our kitchen renovations remain ongoing. As you can see in the pictures, we have made a lot of progress, but we still have to wait a little longer until it is... finished. We continue to take our role seriously in assuring the safety of all patrons and staff and have made some changes in our operation to ensure that COVIDSafe practices are adhered to. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in to venue very soon.

07.01.2022 Sometimes it’s hard to visualise something just from the description so we thought we would give you a preview of our ‘Salmon sushi bowl’. Tasmanian salmon, sushi rice, pickle carrot, baby spinach, nori & kewpie mayo. On until next Wednesday!
06.01.2022 It was hoped that as of 12 noon tomorrow, 10 July, the easing of COVID-19 restrictions would enter stage 3 and would allow us to operate our gaming machines. Unfortunately, the Chief Health Officer and Chief Minister announced today that this easing of restrictions will be paused, with a review of the situation to occur in 2 weeks time. As was mentioned in our previous post, we are in the middle of a major kitchen renovation, which means that we are unable to provide any foo...d offerings at this time. Without kitchen and gaming facilities to offer, we are unable, at this stage, to open our doors. As you can see from the photos, we are making some major progress with our renovation and are very excited about the prospect of a new kitchen and a new look in that area of the club. We are sorry that the news isn't more positive, but we look forward to being able to welcome you into the club in the near future.
03.01.2022 As the COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease around the country, we are receiving calls and enquiries from our loyal patrons, questioning when we will be able to open our doors. In the ACT, under our easing of restrictions roadmap, we are only able to have 20 patrons per enclosed area. These restrictions make it impractical for us to open. According to the ACT government's roadmap, we will not be permitted to operate our gaming facilities until stage 3, which will be mid-J...uly. Due to the large footprint of our club it is more expensive for us to reopen without the ability to welcome more patrons and operate our gaming facilities. As a result, we have no option but to remain closed for now. We will continue to keep our valued patrons informed, as we learn more about our ability to re-open. We look forward to welcoming everyone back soon. In the meantime, our friends across the border at Queanbeyan Leagues Club QLC are back up and running. Head across there and give them a visit.
