So as you yelled back-burning!! you have no doubt realised that elevation location, topography, air sheds and especially background pollution all play a significant role. Then it clicks. After you yelled back-burning!! you see that NSW AAQ Monitors at Chullora, Liverpool and Campbelltown record the worst numbers. And that’s because these areas are low lying; near rivers and creeks; covered by main arterial roads used by trucks and because that is the route of the Southern Sydney Frieght Line.
