22.01.2022 Had a great time cycling Railway Reserve this afternoon, the track is in great condition & the bushland resplendent from the winter rains! #perthhills #kalamunda

20.01.2022 Photos taken by one of the fabulous track volunteers, Lynda, of some of the beautiful wildflowers found along the southern end of Railway Reserve, she advises that there are plenty of donkey orchids to be seen too! So have a wander & a look but please don't pick

18.01.2022 'Peak Hour' on the track on this beautiful and crisp winter's day!

18.01.2022 Some of these beauties along the trail and surrounds, grab a coffee from Embers or Pere and stroll south towards Kalamunda town centre. There is one near the Noel Rd Gooseberry Hill crossing

17.01.2022 On my lunch break today, it was great to get into the closely located bushland on Schmitt rd with the Friends of Railway Reserve - Gooseberry Hill to Walliston ...to see the important work that they do. We bumped into Mayor John Giardina - City of Kalamunda on our travels too! When the weather cools down in March 2019, busy bees will start again in the interest of maintaining and preserving this bushland, I'll keep you posted of when they'll be occurring next. :) See more

16.01.2022 Djilba - growing season (Nyoongar Calendar, August - September). The start of the massive flower explosion . Lots of pretty flowers starting to bloom along the track now - stroll & enjoy! http://www.bom.gov.au/iwk/nyoongar/djilba.shtml

15.01.2022 The Bird Orchid will have finished now but the Scented Sun Orchids will just be coming out. Some have appeared near the Mundaring Weir Rd entrance of the track.

12.01.2022 Volunteers planting along the Shelley Rd section of the track. Thank you for your help

09.01.2022 Excellent works along the northern end of the track to remove dead trees & shrubs, invasive non-natives & fuel load reduction. A top effort by all involved. Replanting with appropriate species will occur during winter

06.01.2022 1761 signatures in the interest of protecting Kalamunda's commuity asset.

06.01.2022 It was a very successful day at the Zig Zag Festival, a lot of interested people looking at the stall promoting the Railway Heritage Trail and some of the beautiful wildflowers to be seen along it. Well done Lynda!

05.01.2022 Today, I was petitioned by 1,761 of my constituents to save the Bushland on Schmitt road, Kalamunda, land which has been used for decades to connect the histori...c Kalamunda railway track. Each signature represents various demographics, young, old, families, nature-lovers, history-lovers, bike-lovers, dog-lovers, but all passionately committed to protecting this piece of Bushland & trail. I look forward to formally submitting the petitions in the Legislative Assembly tomorrow at 9am in the interest of protecting a community asset loved not only by the people of Kalamunda, but beyond. Save our community walk trail See more

04.01.2022 I was lucky enough to visit Kings Park over the weekend and see Boorna Waanginy, here is a short video explaining the totems which was part of the installation. Love this idea

04.01.2022 My beautiful neighbours - both 95 & fighting fit, told me that back in the day, the steam trains would take a water refill from this section of the track in Gooseberry Hill. A natural spring runs through here & it remains a damp area for most of the year.

04.01.2022 Hello fellow track lovers - we have a meeting this evening 10/4/17 at 7pm at the Dome in Kalamunda. It's open to everyone, come and have a 'cuppa' and hear all the great things that are happening along the track!

01.01.2022 Spring wildflowers are popping up all along the track!
