22.01.2022 Making and decorating cookies! An oldie but a goodie and the two best things about this is you have something yummy to eat at the end and you can repeat the act...ivity! We make the cookies, Ive added a recipe I use below but you could use any recipe or even just buy the plain biscuits from the supermarket and use them! Make some butter icing as its a bit thicker and easier for little ones to use. (Recipe below) Now choose some toppings. Today I had a jar of tropical themed sprinkles (around $4 at Coles) but you could literally use any food you like! Try: lollies or smarties Saltanas or dried fruit Sprinkles Choc drops Edible flowers Marshmallows I put a little tray out to encourage fine motor skills in little fingers! I encouraged my little one to make faces but she just plonked them on! she was happy so it didnt matter! Be creative, dont stress the mess and enjoy a bickie with your cuppa! Also please post your photos of your bickies below! Butter cream Ingredients -1 tablespoon butter -1 cup icing sugar -1 tablespoon milk Food colouring Whisk softened butter. Add other ingredients and mix. Add more sugar if too runny or more milk if too dry until you get the consistency of toothpaste!
22.01.2022 A fun lockdown activity to do with your little ones.
22.01.2022 Activity three: Washing toys! this is my secret way to get all the toys (relatively) clean! Use a big waterproof tub (washing basket, mixing bowls, buckets, ...whatever!) and fill with warm soapy water. I usually just use washing detergent and sometimes put in a few drops of essential oils or detol. Today we also added food dye. Then we chose the toys. Today was the LEGO. And we have a LOT! Of LEGO! The two big kids made boats to see if they would float before bombing them to smash them up. My littlest was content to just wash everything. Best done outside when its not too cold! Let me know what other water play tricks you have! See more
20.01.2022 The MOST patient rabbit I know. Easter is the best pet and is so loved by my littlest one. She often gets to snuggle up on the couch and play baby bunnies! Its... great to teach kids how to care for animals properly and so lovely to see the bond between them grow. Post a pic of your little ones favourite pet! See more
19.01.2022 Moving the pigs to their newly cleaned pen. (Thanks farmer kate!) guess who stopped for a roll in the mud?!? Ill give you a hint: they are all white pigs! Pigs need and love mud! Its a great sunscreen and soother for them. I think my kids were pigs in past lives! anyone elses?

15.01.2022 Activity 4 Turn your house into a beauty salon. Be brave, embrace the mess and make sure you have nail polish remover on hand! This is not just for the girls, y...our little boy will love this too! Its fantastic for developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. - Let your little one to paint your nails and then you can paint theirs. - brush each others hair. You can decorate with clips and hair ties. If you have hair spray or hair chalk this is the perfect time to use it! - face paint each other using kid friendly face paint or your makeup kit. Just an eye liner is perfect for making a nose and whiskers! - now go put on some of your favourite dress ups or let your little one raid your wardrobe! - match your outfits with hats, shoes and bags and take turns posing in front of the mirror. You could even have a fashion parade! Have fun, be creative and just remember no one will see your crazy hair and silly makeup but your little ones will remember it forever! As always wed love to see photos!
15.01.2022 Rabbits! How are your pet bunnies going? These cute little bundles make such great pets and soon become part of the family! But if you have a rabbit from us you no longer want or it had babies that you cannot keep we are now in a position to take good care of extra rabbits again and would be happy to take them back. You absolutely dont have to give them back if you want them and can care for them, we are only offering homes for those that need them. Thanks again for your ...support. Hoppy Wednesday! See more
13.01.2022 SAND WRITING Looking for activities to help your little one develop their pre-handwriting skills? Gross motor skills (big movements) will support their fine mo...tor (small, precise movements) like using a pencil. You will need: -a big stick -a patch or tub of dirt, sand or loose soil Ask your child to draw something in the soil. People, animals and things they know and can see are good suggestions. We are lucky we can still get to the beach so we drew pictures of each other in the sand but a sand pit or tray or sand will work just as well. If children prefer not to use a stick, fingers work just as well! Happy drawing! Post your drawings below, wed love to see them!
12.01.2022 My littlest helped me make apple puffs tonight! I love hot apple desserts in the cold weather. Especially with a bit of custard! Whats your familys comfort dessert? I need some more inspiration

11.01.2022 Are these the cutest little bunnies out there? Rainy day fun! Get your makeup kit out (lets be honest we havent had to wear it in ages!) and get creative! I ...just used my eye liner to make a bunny face. Dont be worried about not being a good drawer as your kid will think its awesome!Nose and whiskers can go a long way! If youre brave let them draw whiskers on you too! Now go make that blanket bunny burrow and have some fun play time! See more

09.01.2022 Good morning! Hoppy breakfast!
07.01.2022 Growing sprout seeds! If you have a sprout grower get it out and chuck some alfalfa or pea sprouts in. The kids will love watching them grow as they start prett...y quickly. These started sprouting in just 2 days! If you havent got a sprout grower try using a shallow dish or reusing an old plastic fruit tray like shown below. Put seeds in and cover with water so the seeds are only just covered not swimming in water. Change water at least twice a day. Its good to know you cant change the water too much but you can do it too little! If they swim in water or its not changed regularly they will go mouldy! Happy growing! Show us your progress photos! See more
07.01.2022 Life drawing Get out some paper, crayons, pencils, chalk or paint and let your little one paint their pet. Talk about their large shapes: round head, round/long... body, then look at their limbs. Ask what shape are they? Where do they go on the body? Look at the head what can you see? Eyes/ears/teeth/mouth/etc Encourage them to look at the shape and colour of every feature. Depending on your childs age this talk will be more or less detailed and dont worry if the end product doesnt look a thing like the animal! Celebrate the process and their achievements. Be happy and positive for them and let them do their own work. Stick it on the fridge for a week then replace with a new picture. If keeping artwork is too space consuming take a photo it will be so lovely to look back on when they are older. This is our pet rabbit drawn with oil pastels. I love the colours shes used! Can you work out when she lot interest?!?
07.01.2022 Breakfast in our house! Never a dull moment with these cuties! Anyone elses animals take prime position in their household?

03.01.2022 Making potions! Or in this case, dandelion tea to scare away Mr Tod! (Apparently it was on Peter rabbit recently) So easy and really up to you how you do this. ... I just gave my little one a jar (probably should have used a plastic one), a jug of water and a spoon and she went off and picked flowers. Then she spent a crazy amount of time mixing and adding things together to make tea for us all to drink! You could go and hunt for flowers, nuts and stones for your potion together. Show me your magic potions!
02.01.2022 My daughter is an explorer and the other day she got stuck in this stump she was hiding in! (She wasnt injured and was perfectly fine once I lifted her out!) Every time we walk past this stump now she laughs and says I got caught in there! Whats the funniest place your kids have been stuck?
01.01.2022 Feeding the locals Rainbow lorikeets.
