11.01.2022 Improving flexibility is not about simply stretching tight muscles. These days there is so much research into the different factors that contribute to flexibility, and how to improve it safely, that there is no excuse for outdated, often very unsafe stretching practices. We educate our students in how to look after their bodies for life, not just for dance, and how to work with their own individual instrument, because everybody is different. We have a particular focus on this in our Pathway Classical Ballet Extension Program. We are SO proud of this Pathway student and her splits progress in a year - even having to contend with classes via Zoom. Such dedication, patience and consistency really pays off - bravo!! And thank you to renowned dance Physio Lisa Howell at @theballetblogofficial for her expertise and teacher training

02.01.2022 HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our amazing Jean, the first Rain & Lucky student ever to get her pointe shoes! It’s something that all young dancers dream of; a huge milestone for a ballet student and one that doesn’t come easily. We carefully train our students to ensure safe, strong technique and body conditioning to prepare them for pointe work, and educate them on how to take responsibility for their own bodies and progress. When they are ready they must get clearance from a sp...ecialised ballet physio before being professionally fitted for pointe shoes. Contrary to what many people think, dancers don’t just get pointes at a certain age - it is crucial for their future health that they are physically and mentally ready - and when they do get them, the slow and steady process of learning and understanding how to dance in them - safely and correctly - begins. We are so excited that this day is here for one of our students, with many more to follow! See more
