19.01.2022 Possible Reprint of The Rainbow Recipe Book We have enquiries about ‘The Rainbow Recipe Book’ which was compiled in the early 1960s by the Mechanics Hall Auxiliary. The book is no longer available, but if there is sufficient interest we will get it reprinted. The likely cost of a copy would be $12. If you would like to order one, please email us by early June. Our email address is: [email protected] Many of you will have the well-used original in your kitchen, but, with all... those contributors who are so much a part of our ongoing history, what a wonderful gift the recipe book would make for children, grandchildren, or friends across the country. A quick glance shows recipes from folk such as Fayisse Clarke, Dulce Hogan, Margaret Robertson, Hammie Orriss, Lorraine Dunn, Fay West, Muff Dellar, Lorna Gebert and many others. Of course the recipe book also holds a wealth of know-how handed on by many ladies who have now passed away. See more

19.01.2022 Vale Dawn. Our members join with the whole community in expressing deepest sympathy to the family of Dawn Petschel on her passing. Recently given Life Membership of the RAHS, Dawns dedication, enthusiasm, energy, prodigious research output, friendliness and drive underpinned so much of what we as a group achieved. Dawns countless contributions will not only remain in our files and on our shelves, but in our hearts. She will be sorely missed in the years which lie ahead.

We hope to have a number of the original contributors present - stay tuned for further details.
