24.01.2022 In Love - Small compact prolific flowers in soft delicate pink and white.

24.01.2022 Ulana National Pride

23.01.2022 Images of some of the "Kiwi" Epicacti cultivars I have in my collection

23.01.2022 Daylily "Paul Antony", My younger brother chose this one as his favourite and to be named after him. Paul Antony is a beautiful ruffled bloom. Prolific with dozens of medium size blooms on tall scapes all out at once that bloom over a long period of time. Such a unique rich colour with blue undertones. A unique daylily of it's own. as I have no other like it in my gardens!

22.01.2022 Coming soon, my very own unique, organic and locally grown honeys. These honeys are made from Southern Western Australian Marri, Jarrah and Karri trees along with some other flowering natives grown on or around our property, as well as my Rainbow Daylily blossoms of daylilies, irises, hippeastrums, cliveas and epicacti. A lovely combination of unique honey's to choose from. These will be available in twist top, squeezable bottles of 350 mls. I will also have available my... very own "Bee Naturally Beautiful" beauty and skin products, made from my virgin beeswax, honeys and other organic ingrediants. I absolutely love these products as I have been using them for a number of years now and thought to make some available for others that may be interested? There will be a healing balm, lip balm , hand/face balms to start off with. These are great to treat dry, hard working hands, chapped lips, flaky or damaged skin conditions, cracked heals, scars, burns, rashes the list goes on. For example I had a flaky skin condition (Solar Keratosis) on my upper lip caused from years of sun damage. I decided to use my Honey & Wax Healing Balm before heading to the drs for a couple of things and showed him my lip half expecting him to zap it with dry freeze but told me to keep using what I was using. After several days of using my healing balm morning and night it has pretty much dissappeared. These products are all made from virgin beeswax and other natural, organic ingrediants with no chemicals or preservatives used - 100% natural and organic, you can eat them :) Keep an eye out on this site for further updates. 22.01.2022 Was a great weekend spent at this years Bunbury Orchid Show, selling daylilies, louisiana irises, raw organic honey and my virgin beeswax healing balms. It was great to catch up with some familiar faces that I hadn't seen for a few years and meeting new people . Here are some images I took over the weekend. For all you locals that are interested, Busselton is holding their annual Orchid Show this weekend 12th & 13th Sept in the Hall/Pavilion, at the Show Grounds, from 10am - 3pm. Hope you can make it?

21.01.2022 Getting geared up for the Daylily Bloomin Season this spring. These days I don't do much hybridising, but already I am aiming to create something out of these 2 cultivars. One is a (soon to be) new release "Lace Castles" which has the tallest scapes I have ever seen on a daylily at 48 " (122cm) , it towers over any of my spider cultivars. "Lace Castle" has great international genetics as it is a cross from "Fancy Lace X Castle Rock" from America, with a gorgeous rounded ...bloom of great substance and colour. I aim to cross this with one of my spider cultivars "Free Wheelin" aiming to get the long petals and dynamic prism eye on the extra long scapes so these will look fantastic in any back drop of a garden or a great garden filler. The base colours of the seedlings could come out in shades of cream to pink to apricot? It will exciting to see what comes out of these 2? Here are some images of the 2 parents I will cross with. The first image is of "Free Wheelin" and the others are of "Castle Lace". It takes 6 weeks for a seed pod to develop after pollination and each pod can carry up to around 14 seeds. You can get a fully matured and flowering plant within 8 months of planting the seed out...so not bad going, all within 12 months! See more

17.01.2022 OM Gosh only a couple of years ago I imported some NZ hybrids and can't believe how fast and furious Vanilla Dreams has grown! From 1 or 2 cuttings I now have 6 established pots of it and it is so very prolific with its creamy vanilla blooms with the striking raspberry pink outer petals and veining in leaves, I have these in pots growing under trees as I don't have a green house so they get battered with the wind, rain and the fallen branches. I am now going to grow some in a hanging basket to put on show at home for next year. I think this is a rebloomer also. A Must fir everyone's collection, I think this will be a beauty to cross with also. Here are a few images taken now.

17.01.2022 I have just reduced prices on many of my Epis on my website, some are the "Kiwi" imports. Customers that have existing orders with any reduced have been notified and are in credit :) Kindest Regards Shelli

17.01.2022 Any orders recieved from yesterday onwards will be delayed by up to a week as I am getting surgery done and not sure how I will be afterwards. Epi orders should be fine but daylily and iris orders will have to wait a few weeks as I am not allowed to do anything strenuous. Kind Regards Shelli

16.01.2022 Now available on my website, I welcome you : "Paul Antony" named after my younger brother "Paul Newman" whom chose this daylily cultivar as his favourite and I can't blame him. Such gorgeous structured blooms with crinkled, ruffled edges and white midribs extending out from a black-crimson eye which surrounds the lime green throat, displayed on long scapes with thin strappy foliage. A unique vibrant purple colour with blue undertones that my camera can't capture. Prolific and flowers over a long period of time. A fast increaser. A real show stopper growing amongst all my others. It is truly one on it's own with it's unique colouring.

15.01.2022 Spider Daylily - Oakes Love

Come along for a cuppa and check out a gorgeous collection of orchids for sale and various other plants. Hope you can make it? Held at the Italian Club, Bunbury. 15.01.2022 Morning All, I have just taken down my post about my iris list as I had recieved quite a few requests for it, through PM , emails and from here. I would love to provide the iris list to you all, but unfortunately, due to limited stock this year I have only sent the list to the first 5 customers, and they are: Hettie, Jennifer, Catie, Graham and Nola. If the above 5 go ahead and place an order, please get your orders in by this Wednesday and I will then work out if it is... worthwhile in sending out to the adjusted iris list to the 2nd lot of requests? So sorry for any inconveniences, I hope to have many more irises available next year? Kindest Regards Shelli See more

15.01.2022 All orders for 2019 are now closed until 1st Feb 2020. I have several orders to process and send off this week then I am taking a break for the remainder of Dec and January 2020. Those that are wanting Tall Bearded irises I will make some available by 1st Feb so keep an eye out on these late January from my website. Customers that place an order for Epi's, I will get these processed after the 1st Feb 2020. Daylily orders won't get processed and sent off until end of April to early May (after the first lot of heavy rains that we have here). Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and may 2020 be a great start to the new decade for us all. - Shelli Green

14.01.2022 15 Years today ( 5. 5. 05) I started up my online nursery business "Rainbow Daylilies" (A huge thanks to my older brother Christopher Newman, in creating my website back then and whom has made adjustments here and there along the way). Thanks to my husband Richard & my 3 beautiful children especially Shane, whom have supported and helped me over the years when I most need it <3 Initially I started my nursery with just Daylilies and TB & Lousiana Irises. I have since extended ...my collection of plants to Hippeastrums, Cliveas and Epicacti, where I think I have the largest collection of Epicacti in Australia. I am self taught with everything I know, through trial and error, love and devotion. Over the years I have created and registered some of the most beautiful flowers and have many more to be released this year. The thought of my plants gracing and growing in peoples gardens all over Australia brings me much satisfaction and joy. I love what I do and love what I have created and hope to carry on for at least another 15 years, maybe another 30? I look forward in the many new varieties I will create and what adventures my nursery unfolds...even the llittlest things from finding unusual lizards in my sand pile to watching my bees steal my pollen before I can get to it to pollinate. Taking time out to photograph and smell the roses (flowers). Below are a few of the plants I have created over the years See more

13.01.2022 This is to all the Epicacti Lovers... I thought to write a litttle blog and list on some of the great compact, cascading basket growing Epiphyllums. A few weeks ago I got asked by one of my customers on "what Epiphyllums are great basket performers?" So, I went through all my cultivars and came up with around 50 that stand out to me as great basket performers. A few of these may start off with upright rigid new growth but cascade as they mature. The others grow simila...r to German Empress where they cascade from start - all neat, tidy, cascading basket cultivars. Most of these are from NZ hybridiser, Carol Rogerson, whom specialized in creating prolific compact coffee table cultivars and prolific compact hanging basket cultivars. There are probably a dozen or so others in my collection that I have overlooked but I will keep an eye out over the next several months while some are still maturing in size and add these to my list. Here are the prolific, compact, cascading Epiphyllums that I find perform well in baskets: Acapulco Sunset Agatha Anguliger Fishbone Cactus Ballet Angel Bright Spark Cabrillo Candy Crush Chiapora Nayada Cryptocereus Rik Rak Djonnaise Elven Princess Flash of Passion German Empress Gold Charm Golden Opportunity Heritage Rose Hot Chick In Love Jewel of Happiness Jovial Kiwi Honey Bright Kiwi Honey Child, Kiwi Honey Gem Kiwi Honey Love Kiwi Oscar Winner Lassenbys Hybrid Lingering Kiss Love Shack Magic Rosette Mary K Meadow Rose News Flash Nikola Marie Heritage Rose Macranthus - Disocactus Magical Mango Marie Joyce Nikola Marie Outrageous Fortune Peach Butterfly Pink Snowflake Pink Sprite Princess Betty Princess Linda Quartz Movement Raspberry Swirl Romantic Night Stephannie Miranda Sugar Plum Fairy Sunny Honey Tropical Fiesta Twilight Dancer Vanilla Dream Whispers of Spring Zorina

10.01.2022 Closing orders earlier this year... I will not be doing any plant orders from "Rainbow Daylilies" from the 8th October - 4th Nov. as I will be overseas. However, I will be able to do Epiphyllum orders after 4th Nov up until end of December, but will stop daylily orders (due to it being too hot and stressful for myself and the plants. Kind Regards Shelli Green
