18.01.2022 Last weekend our 5 BFs passed their assessment and are now part of the Rainbow Flat Firefighting Crew. Congratulations to all. Yesterday two of them, with other brigade members, were able to use their newly acquired skills to conduct a high risk pile burn.

10.01.2022 Rainbow Flat RFB was visited today by Police Superintendent Chris Schilt, Commander of the Manning/Great Lakes District along with Sargeant Steve Kendell, Community Engagement and Emergency Planning. Chris is new to the area and was keen to introduce himself to the Brigade and to receive any feedback relating to Police matters and last years fires. He was also interested in the progress and construction of our new fire station. Also in attendance were Mark Johnson and Peter Ruprecht from the local community. The Brigade thank him for his interest and look forward to future cooperation.

09.01.2022 We are proud to announce that tonight at our monthly meeting, Group Captain, Nathan Birchall presented the Premier's Bushfire Emergency Citation to Rainbow Flat RFS members who served in the 2019-2020 Bushfire Emergency. We thank the Premier and the people of NSW for this recognition.

06.01.2022 There has been a lot of media interest in Rainbow Flat this week as it has been one year since the devastation of the Hillville Fire. We have had many requests for pictures and interviews however it can be difficult for some to relive such catastrophic events. On a more positive note, progress has continued on Rainbow Flat's new Shed. The gyprockers are well underway, all rooms lined and set. Also the concrete hard standing area in front of the building has been done. The finishing line is getting closer every day.

02.01.2022 It is hard to imagine that 12 months ago fires were burning out of control across Mid Coast. The Hillville fire that started on the 7 November headed east and ...impacted Rainbow Flat on 8 November. The brigade station was destroyed in the fire. 12 months on and the new station is taking shape with the brigade hoping to move into their new home before Christmas. See more
