25.01.2022 The Caterpillars explored different identities as they pretended to be doctors and patients. The children are broadening their understanding of the role Doctors play in our community. The Caterpillars took this job seriously as they checked their friends temperatures, observed their patient by using the stethoscope and tending to their friends injuries as they applied bandages.
25.01.2022 The Caterpillars had a lot of fun learning how to play Musical Chairs. This gave them an opportunity to learn rules for a game and participate in a group game confidently as an individual. It was wonderful to see the children developing their resilience and ability to show sportsmanship towards others with support from their educators.

25.01.2022 This week the snuggle bears have continued investigating and experimenting with crystals and crystal formations! We used these amazing kits shared with us from one of our Snuggle Bear friends and were able to create a "Magic Crystal Garden!" Today we extended on this by using our crystal garden to inspire a landscape drawing! We focused on the shapes, colours and textures and worked on recreating these in our artwork.
24.01.2022 The Caterpillars have been learning about healthy habits. This week we have focused on staying fit and active. Ever since the Caterpillars attended Coach Celenas and Trainer Trishs boot camp, they have been requesting obstacle courses. The Caterpillars have shown great determination and persistence as they navigated their way through a variety of challenging obstacle courses. The children showed impressive sportsmanship as they cheered their friends on. Great job, lets keep on moving Caterpillars!
23.01.2022 The Ducklings loved our science experiment today finding out what happens when you place the ingredients bi carb of soda, vinegar, glitter and food coloring together in a jar. We all said wow as the mixture foamed up and spilled over the jar like a volcano. So exciting!
23.01.2022 Today our Snuggle Bears worked on their numeracy skills by exploring concepts of sharing. We used delicious donuts to help us understand the importance of sharing as we counted out and shared equal amounts of sprinkles. This was such a fun activity! Maybe next time we can use real donuts
22.01.2022 Today the Bumblebees explored, climbed, crawled, balanced and slid along our very, very long obstacle course from one side of the playground to the other developing the Bumblebees hand and eye co ordination as well as physical skills. They absolutely loved this experience!!!!

21.01.2022 Today the Caterpillars loved exploring the paint in conjunction with the bubble wrap. They loved feeling the textures of the bumpy bubbles under their paint brushes and on their hands as they mixed the slippery paint together on it. They were then amazed when they pressed a piece of paper on to the bubble wrap creating a spotty pattern all over it
21.01.2022 The Bumblebees showed curiosity and imagination today as they explored with our watermelon slime. We discussed the texture and the feel of the slime as well as what ingredients we placed in to create our slime such as glue, food colouring, contact solution, shaving cream and watermelon seeds. This is something fun that you could all try at home as well.
20.01.2022 The Caterpillars enjoyed running Rainbow Haven Pizza. They explored different roles as they took turns preparing the pizza, working at the cash register and being a customer. They had so much fun!!
20.01.2022 Pyjama week Today the Snuggle Bears looked into why we dream. We found out some cool new facts about our bodies from watching a video on our smart bird. After this it was decided we create our own dream catchers. We picked our own sticks from outside and added feathers and string to finish it off and make it colourful. Sweet dreams Snuggle Bears

19.01.2022 This week the Caterpillars have shown an interest in learning about things that fly. A couple of our Caterpillar friends brought their aeroplane’s in to share with the class. This inspired the children to create their own paper aeroplanes, developing their fine motor and gross motor skills. The Caterpillars also learnt about motion as they flew their planes around kindy.

19.01.2022 Learning new and fun techniques all through our love of Art and Craft To begin this fun week the children engaged in 3 different activities. We had still life charcoal drawings. Here we learnt about blending and creating light and dark tones. With crayons the children discovered shading. This was very fun and different way to draw using crayons. Lastly we did step by step craft. This process was very intriguing as we used candles to draw and then water colours to reveal our pictures. We also had some mood music playing to channel different emotions whilst participating in art. Stay tuned for the rest of the weeks exciting activities.

18.01.2022 Some of our Ducklings are developing their skills in learning to walk with the help of the ride on bikes/walkers outdoors. They are getting very skilled at this even pushing the bikes one handed. So clever Ducks!!!
17.01.2022 The Caterpillars learnt all about road safety. They showcased their creativity and shared their ideas as they drew trees and storms on the road. The children are also developing their knowledge of road signs as they sticked road sign stickers. They had so much fun driving their cars on the round about, over and under the bridges as well as going under the tunnels.

15.01.2022 Today the Honey Bear children discovered all about the different layers of our Earth - Inner core, outer core, the mantle and the crust. It was so interesting to research about as we learnt the different layers consist of different rocks and minerals and magma. The children used play dough to represent the different layers as they strategically rolled the layers over one another then cut their Earth in half with a knife. What amazing learning we did today!!
14.01.2022 The Caterpillars loved creating marble runs with their teachers today. This activity encouraged them to build their hand eye coordination and to maintain their focus on a given object. This activity also supported them with developing their gross motor and fine motor coordination as they worked on their ability to show precision and caution so not to make the run fall down. It was fascinating fun
14.01.2022 The Caterpillars have recently loved going shopping in our very own Woolworths. It has been a great opportunity for the children to connect with and contribute to their world. As well as use language to communicate roles and respond to one another’s needs and requests.

13.01.2022 A huge thank you to Penelope and her family who kindly donated tools to the Honey Bears room to use in their construction play. We are so appreciative and cannot say thank you enough. Today the children got straight into the tools to help build a shelf for our home corner. The children loved using the screw drivers and measuring tools to build it for our home corner. We are so excited to use our new shelf.
13.01.2022 Today the Caterpillars learnt about a variety of community workers and the role they play in our community.
12.01.2022 Ellie brought a book to share with us today called The Three Little Pigs. The Caterpillars while listening to the story showed they really enjoyed the element of suspense in the story. The children then engaged in dramatic play pretending the boxes were their houses and they were the three little pigs. Their educators then pretended to be Mr. Wolf huffing and puffing until their houses blew down. It was so much fun!
12.01.2022 The Honey Bears have been practicing their writing skills as they explore learning how to recognise and identify letters and their sounds in familiar words. The children are so proud of their writing and love spending time sitting and writing as many words as they can. Miss Bec and Mr Ayden are so proud of all the children and how far they have come this year with their pre-literacy development
12.01.2022 Rainbow names To further extend and challenge the Snuggle Bears, this week we practised writing our names and then tracing over each letter using a different coloured crayon. This creating our rainbow names. This activity really encouraged the children’s persistence to help refine our fine motor skills and practise forming the letters in our name. So clever!
11.01.2022 An absolutely egg-cellent day today for the Bumble Bees as we discovered our new flock of Chickens have layed some eggs! The Bees loved touching the eggs and have continued to conversate with each other about chick egg.
09.01.2022 The Ducks enjoyed watering our strawberry and spinach today with their miniature watering cans and some water following on from Mia’s gardening and planting experience on the weekend.

09.01.2022 The Honey Bear children loved practicing their cutting skills as they cut and pasted the numbers from 0-5 in order, and cut out farm animals and drew the setting. They absolutely loved the experience and had so much fun.
09.01.2022 Today Mia showed the Caterpillars her special mask that her Grandmother made for her. We have been talking lots about people wearing masks in the community to help keep them healthy. The children have really enjoyed becoming familiar with them during their doctors play and as they discuss their various experiences during our group times
08.01.2022 Drawing is such a wonderful art to engage in for the children. Today, the children focused on drawing Australian animals using clipboards and pencils. They showed patience within their art making and focus on the animals body features. Art is beautiful

06.01.2022 Today the Bumblebees enjoyed our science experiment using milk , food colouring, dishwashing liquid and a cotton tip. Watch to see what happens to the food colouring as Miss Sarah and Jacob place the cotton tip with dishwashing liquid into the milk and food colouring. 04.01.2022 The Honey Bears were so excited as Miss Bec brought in her special magic tricks. They loved being apart of the magic colouring in book as they magically tapped the book to make the colours and pictures disappear.
04.01.2022 The Bumblebees loved keeping warm dressed up in their Winter Woolies accessories today and decorated their beanies for craft with some coloured chunky markers, glue, glitter and cotton wool!!! We all had so much fun!
04.01.2022 The Bumblebees enjoyed doing some gardening today in the Bumblebees playground. They helped to place soil into some pots, place some sunflower seeds in as well as planting our strawberry plant then watering them. We also discussed how plants grow and what they need to grow. We will be learning more about gardening during the week by planting some vegetables!!!!
04.01.2022 The Honey Bears participated in three science experiments today. This was one of them - exploring sounds through different volumes of water. How does the water change the sounds?
04.01.2022 Today in the Caterpillar room we explored water and its colour as the children thought the rain was white last week. We discovered it was clear so we decided to create our own rain cloud and also made a rainbow with coloured water. The children were fascinated by the changes that they saw as the experiments progressed
03.01.2022 The Honey Bear children have been investigating in learning about bugs and insects. Using freshly made play dough this morning, the children spent time stimulating their creativity and designing skills to design their own bugs. Loose parts were integrated into the art experience to be used as parts of their bugs - googly eyes, pipe cleaners and rainbow match sticks. They all turned out so amazing!! We love how every single bug looked so different capturing the childs imagination, envision of their bug and interpretation of art.
03.01.2022 Check out these very clever illustrators As a follow on from the very fun and hilarious story Do Not Open This Book. The Snuggle Bears drew and created their own similar and funny story. We called it Do Not Go In The Snuggle Bear Room We each came up with our own page and illustrated a picture to match.

We celebrated by practicing our cutting skills making creepy pumpkins, putting together a witches brew using bi-carb and vinegar and making delicious spooky jelly cups for the afternoon.
01.01.2022 The Honey Bears go to Colombia! We felt so inspired after our learning yesterday with Abagail and her Mum and Dad that we felt like learning more about Colombia. We researched Colombia on the Interactive Smartboard and noticed all the gorgeous and stunning colours within the country. We noticed all the beautiful dresses, hats, bags, buildings and architecture. This inspired our art making as the children designed and created their own bags
