My name is Erin, I am a mother to three incredibly energetic young children, a wife to an amazingly supportive husband and a Blue Diamond level doTERRA leader empowering and educating others to create wellness and abundance in their lives. My background is in health. I have been a Registered nurse and midwife for the last 12 years and have developed a deep passion for education about proactive and preventative health care. Our journey towards wellness began shortly after our son Riley (now 6) was born. He suffered a severe bout of gastroenteritis at the age of 6weeks and his health deteriorated from there. Many many restless nights and days and specialist trips until he was finally diagnosed at 9 months of age with multiple gut intolerances secondary to gastroenteritis. Riley's gut health was very poor and he wasn't well nourished leading up to this diagnosis. I felt so very helpless as a mother and hated seeing my child in discomfort. We worked hard as a family to create an additive free lifestyle and accommodate Riley's intolerances through our dietary changes but we were still missing a way to naturally support his discomforts whilst his gut was healing. We were then given hope. A tiny amber bottle with the most intoxicating aroma. Nothing like I had ever experienced before. 04.01.2022 Oils4Life: Fake Lavender #EOUWatchdogWednesday Back on January 24th I asked the question of what oil you would most like to see analyzed and we would pick one... submission per month that warrants investigation and analyze it for free (if the person requesting it would arrange a bottle to be sent to me directly from the company selling it). Natalia Jedras contacted me privately and arranged to have a bottle of "Lavender Croatian" sent in to my lab directly from Oils4Life, which is apparently a popular company in the UK. Let me just say I wasn't paid anything for this work and I had never even heard of Oils4Life before January 24th, but after looking at their site and seeing "Lavender Oil" priced at 4.32 for a 30 ml bottle (about 1 ounce), I thought it was worth investigation. That coupled with the fact that I am quite familiar with Croatia (been there multiple times) and don't really know of any true lavender producers there . Long story short, the oil is not even close to true lavender but a blend of Lavandin with a large amount of synthetic linalool and linalyl acetate as well as markers for castor oil. Anyway, it's totally understandable how they can sell this product so cheap because I estimate the cost of this product is probably somewhere in the range of $10-$20 per KILOGRAM (about 35 ounces) so the value of the actual oil in the bottle is literally pennies!
