15.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION #COVID19 Closure of a number of high use visitor locations in #Queensland National Parks, State Forests and recreation areas. As part of... our ongoing response to COVID-19, the Queensland Government has announced the closure of a number of high use visitor locations and four-wheel drive beach areas in National Parks, State Forests and state managed recreation areas across Queensland from Friday 3 April 2020 for the foreseeable future in the interest of public safety. This follows the closure of all camping areas and visitor centres across Queensland on 26 March 2020. The affected areas include high use picnic and day use areas, toilet and shower facilities, lookouts, swimming holes, mountain bike and walking tracks and trails, and four-wheel drive beach areas in National Parks, State Forests and recreation areas managed by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service. The closures also apply to all users including commercial tour operations. We understand some park and forest users may be disappointed that their recreational access is impacted, but we ask for people to respect and support rangers while they work to close these high risk visitor locations within parks and forests in the interests of community safety, and seek alternative locations to exercise in your local area. Compliance with the closure will be monitored and penalties may apply for non-compliance. For the latest Park Alerts and information on the closures, vehicle access and camping permit bookings, please visit www.des.qld.gov.au and follow Queensland Health to stay up to date with the latest COVID-19 advice. #qldparks #qldenvironment

06.01.2022 Isolation on Fraser Island means using the beach for your exercise spot. This is something you don't see everyday on 75mile beach. With no visitors here at the... moment to share this beautiful island with, a few things such as the fauna and flora have been changing. Watch us here as we post more photos for you to enjoy. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon. Has anyone else seen an echidna along our beaches when here? Don't forget to contact us if you would like to purchase our soft and cuddly Echidna "Harry" from our shop as we can post it to you See more

06.01.2022 15/03/20 7am - Good morning world! Lovely run around the bottom of the Island this morning. You can see how much of the point has disappeared over the last coup...le weeks if you compare this video to the others I’ve put up. What was once a very broad beach has narrowed up considerably, quite normal in the life of the Fraser. Be aware that the beach accesses on Fraser at the 11km as well as campgrounds etc have been washed out and new drifts have built up, so proceed with caution, they can be quite steep. Now we wait and see if Gretel is going to visit our area and bless us with some crazy weather! Oh and that isn’t a banshee that you’ll hear at the start of the video, it’s just the boss with a head cold! See more

02.01.2022 From midnight tonight, we’re tightening our Queensland borders even further to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus. Anyone who is not a Queensland resident o...r considered exempt from the restrictions will not be able to enter our state. People with an exemption must have a border pass prior to crossing, except freight transport services who’ll be allowed through without one. Basically - no permit, no pass. More info on restrictions and exemptions: https://bit.ly/39xTWXf Apply for a border pass: https://www.qld.gov.au/border-pass #coronavirusaustralia
