20.01.2022 Educators Walk Out For Equal Pay - United Voice, Big Steps Campaign - 5th Septemeber 2018 7000 educators will walk off today, with 350 centres set to close nationwide from lunchtime today, so they can stand together for Early Educators for equal pay. Educators can attend political rallies around Australia to demand that the vital work of early childhood educators be recognised and valued. Australia's educators must have qualifications yet they earn as little as $22 an hour an...d are some of the lowest paid professionals in the country. According to the union, United Voice, 40,000 parents will be hit by the action but the union hopes this sends a clear message that the industry is very serious about early educators deserving equal pay, funded by the government.
