19.01.2022 It's a chilly sunset on National Sorry Day. As we look towards Reconciliation Week & beyond, past meaningless tokenism, it's inspiring to look at little local a...cts in our community that pave the way forward, or dear Uncle Ivan Wellington's simple often-repeated phrase loaded with honest symbolism about "holding hands and walking on together" Or the words of that lovable rascal Uncle Jack Charles: At the moment we are becoming united in many ways. But there is still much to be done and we haven’t learnt the first lesson; I will be truly reconciled when we are bleeding actual truth in history on to our schools' curriculum in order for generations to come to understand the totality of the story of Australia And let Uncle Archie Roach's song "We Won't Cry" play on... "I'm here beside you and don't you forget it, I'm with you walking down this road. Give you what's inside you, you won't regret it, Together we can lighten this load."

10.01.2022 At 11 am on 11 November 1918 the guns on the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. With their armies retreating and close ...to collapse, German leaders signed an Armistice, bringing to an end the First World War. Brought up in a church in the middle of a fort (St Mary's, the oldest Anglican Church east of the Suez in Fort St George, Chennai), plus the family's steep Navy connection, Armistice Day, then Remembrance Day was nothing short of sacred. So Warren & I had to pause a business meeting at 11 to pay our respects at Mawson Park. While the ceremony was contained this year for obvious reasons, COVID could not thin the blanket of respect that hung heavy in the air for all who have served and do serve. Lest we forget.

06.01.2022 Great to see the Educational Pathways Policy Program (EPPP) has taken off so well in Campbelltown. Congrats Rose Vujcic & team on seeking to make a real differe...nce to our young people's future by engaging them in career conversations and helping show them the realistic possibilities that lie beyond the school gates. In addition to everything else, I especially look forward to this program being able to improve outcomes for our disengaged and disadvantaged students. In our next episode #goodmorningmacarthur
