25.01.2022 The report Home is Where Our Story Begins: Family, community and belonging for sexuality and gender diverse CALD people, explores the experiences of LGBTQ people in CALD communities in Greater Western Sydney following the same-sex marriage vote in 2017: https://cloudstor.aarnet.edu.au/plus/s/QFU1LM0Hr4gZAaX A collaborative research project between the NSW LGBTIQ Domestic & Family Violence Interagency, ACON, and Western Sydney University, it was designed to deepen understanding of issues facing LGBTQ CALD communities in the region.

02.01.2022 ConversAsians and SocialisAsians Started in 2016, ConversAsians workshops are for Gay Asian Men in Sydney and run by a group of volunteers in conjunction with ACON. There are workshops about every two months hosted on ACON premises, on ever evolving topics relevant to the community such as Coming Out, Rainbow Families, Sexuality & Religion and Being Single. SocialisAsians is a related group, for ConversAsians members and their friends & allies in the wider community. The volu...nteers organise social events every few weeks such as hikes, bouldering, board game nights, museum visits and outing to Sculpture by the Sea. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1709960115952052/ ConversAsians and SocialisAsians are run by a group of about 25 volunteers in a flat structure.

01.01.2022 Amonst the speaker today at this Queer Thinking session is Henry Tse who is an activist in the transgender rights in Hong Kong and Tse was one of three people who lodged a judicial review to win the right to have their gender changed on their Hong Kong ID in early 2019. Anyone going?
