18.01.2022 A little while ago I was asked to create a special collection to be used in a prep class in their different learning areas. Campfire, Watering hole, Cave and Mountain top. I love how its come together and hope the preppies enjoy learning through play. Campfire It was requested that all pieces be stitched together so it could be moved as a whole. It measures 29 x 29x 23cm. Watering hole... How fun this playscape is! I imagine its going to be put to good use and enjoyed in many ways. It measures 30 x 25 x 15cm Mountain top Measures 35 x 21 x 17cm Cave I love how this felt cave turned out. I had a really cute bear to show the cave in use but my kids have popped him in a safe place, so these little dragons will have to do. I wonder what they will pop inside -bears, people, dragons? I enjoyed creating it and I hope it brings lots of joy too. It measures 20 x 27 x 10cm

18.01.2022 The Peppermint Swirl dress is perfect for spinning and makes a beautiful special occasion dress, or if your my daughter an everyday outfit. Lifes too short to be dull! This dress was requested some time ago now and Im glad Ive finally made it as my beautiful girly girl is growing up and is in the last size of the pattern so I fear there wont be many more before shes too grown up for handmade pretty dresses.

14.01.2022 Snack bags Today I made my youngest two some snack bags for their school lunches so we could stop using zip lock bags. The kids preferred zippers over snaps, velcro or folded over bags and I thought having windows would be fun. They chose their own fabrics from my stash and I lined them with clear PVC and PUL that I had left over from when I used to make nappy wallets and wet bags. Having them lined with the PVC and PUL means they can be wiped clean or turned inside out and washed in the machine. I guess it might be some time before we need to use them but at least they are done and ready to go.

11.01.2022 This special family was commissioned by NZ police to send to their colleagues in the Solomon Islands. The dolls were requested to be anatomically correct and will be used in their sexual assault unit to replace their ageing dolls. (Anatomical photos are posted last to not offend those who do not wish to see) I was honoured and excited to be asked to create dolls for such important work. 04.01.2022 Dolls Nappy Bag Set Ive just finished this cute custom Dolls Nappy Bag Set order, and absolutely love the beautiful Lilac & Sage metallic fabric that was chosen. My pattern was tweaked a bit so that the bibs and nappies fit on Miniland dolls and they are oh so cute!

01.01.2022 This week I finished some long awaited requests from my youngest two. 1. Doll bedding set for minilands 2. Sonic and Tails softies 3. Butterfly hair accessories ... Bedding Set: Weve had an Ikea doll bed for some time now. They come flat packed and only require a couple of turns with the allen key to make a pretty sturdy bed. However the bedding that comes with it is pretty basic and my daughter wanted something better for her minilands. Ive made bedding sets before but wanted to try my hand at quilting and this was the perfect size project. It turned out pretty cute even though there a a couple of puckers in the quilted top. Adding a nice foam mattress and dust ruffle completed the set. The minilands approve but I do think Liam is due some pjs fit for a boy now. Sonic and Tails: My second long overdue project to finish this week was Sonic the hedgehog for my son who requested Sonic and Tails at the beginning of the school holidays. I made Tails weeks ago, complete with two spinning tails. But was stumped on how to create Sonic quills. Luckily I came across a tutorial by @dollphinwing so I could complete the duo for him. They are not perfect and I probably should have just bought some but my son loves them so I guess thats all that matters. Hair accessories: The lucky last to do project for the week was to create some butterfly hair accessories. Originally my daughter was going to make them while I supervised. They are quite simple but she found it hard to sew and turn such small pieces. She did proudly finish one (centre top row) before handing it over to me. Her school colours are black and gold so we made a few of those and attached them with hot glue to clips or sewed them to hair ties. These are perfect for anyone looking for a quick project, tutorials can be found on Pinterest and YouTube under fabric origami butterfly.
