The simplicity of this life, my chickens roaming free in the garden, the vision of our goat adoption coming up, our yurt holding our village safe between its walls, the hills and rivers that surrounds our home and our little family working on small projects that we love. ... This is exactly where I need to be. Avoiding the rush of life, being present, slow and steady. Putting the energy into my garden and in return this little way of life gives me the most amazing amount of embodied gratitude. 15.01.2022 Our mushroom hunting season is coming to an end . So today we printed out all the photos of the mushrooms we found during our adventures in the wild . .... Laying it all out like this was really exciting, we didn’t realise how many different species we had discovered, there must have been about 25 different ones . . We are now creating a little project book and identifying each one. . . We will also be learning about the benefits of mushrooms, how to cook with them, about mycelium, how to identify poisonous shrooms and the anatomy of a mushroom . . 13.01.2022 Ahimsa is one of Patanjalis Niyamas from the 8 fold path of yoga. It means love, respect and non harming or violence to all living things. . I teach Ahimsa foundations to kids in my kids yoga and mindfulness classes by yoga stories in loving your enemies and caring for all life. . .... Kids can also practice Ahimsa with pets. Being of service to and caring for animals teaches compassion and so many other life lessons. . . Teaching empathy will show kids a greater responsibility and compassion for the wider world. This is our vision here at Rainbow Hollow and just like this nest, we will hold you all safely and warm within the nurturing wings of this community. . . Budding new life into what learning can look like, how we teach our small folk and ultimately how we as the guardians, show them the world and their place in it, learning alongside with them. . . 09.01.2022 YURT CLOSURE . . Today we started the clean out of our yurt. .... . We had big plans this spring to bring you all the yoga and kids nature workshops but it seems our wet winter had other plans. . . So we begin the journey to take down our beloved yurt temporarily to make space for our Rewilding Village. . . Making space for our new adventure is a bit bittersweet as we take down the yurt but we know this space is going to be amazing. A straw bale sustainable school will be built in Its place. . . The yurt will eventually be put back up but until then we invest all our energy into creating something just as warm, peaceful and inspirational. . . This really is going to be huge, so much more than we ever imagined. . . Stay posted for all the new beginnings and the return of our yurt. See more

07.01.2022 JULY . Thank you July for giving us the time to tend our garden. For the mushroom hunting season, the winter abundance that is feeding us #fromgardentoplate . Our chicks have finally grown enough to free range with the other chickens now and they are exploring new ground every day.... . Finally we have just started to step out with our other #homeschool friends on adventures, it has been a long wait but the wildlings are free to gather in small groups now and our yurt will be up and running in Spring with yoga and mindfulness classes. . Huge thank you to all our friends and family who came to Rainbow Hollow for our #busybee fencing is now up for the goats and the backyard is ready for our new rewilding village sustainability building. . Rainbow Hollow is vibing on love, joy and even our first bulb has opened up reminding us that spring is on the way . Last night we cooked tofu kebabs on the fire we know these fire times are coming to an end so we will be getting in a few more before the season changes. .
