The conversations and watching your children grow. Thank you for continuing to support my business as it transitions into a new phase as an online only store.... This has been such an amazing journey. Holding this space was no longer practical. I am now deep in the Adelaide Hills, living an off-grid life in beautiful Macclesfield. 14.01.2022 Today I visited local Artisan Kathy Baschiera and the woollen wonderland that is her workshop. I was reminded of the devastation of the Cuddly Creek bushfires here in the Adelaide Hills as I drove down roads lined with blacked trees and arrived at her house, with a scorched front fence and huge charred trees. Lucky for all of us her property was spared.... Heres a few pics of my beautiful afternoon; wool, wool and more wool, her amazing array of landscape dyes - this isnt even half of them, Her eleven year old rescue doggie, Oliver, in his hand knitted woolen coat. The regeneration of the land. Ill be adding all my purchases to the website tomorrow. Enjoy

02.01.2022 Oh how they grow! I shared a photo of my boys holding these two on Easter Sunday, just days after their Mama had been taken by a fox . Just a few weeks on and these chicks are nearly ready to leave the nest; aka a box in my living room.... The grey chick is not fully feathered yet, only a few days ago it had nothing but fluff and a few feathers on its wings. They are big enough now to fly out of their box and search the kitchen floor for any scraps that may have been dropped and maybe leave some dropping of their own. They go outside everyday, but if the wind picks up, the weather cools or the sun gets low they huddle on my back doorstep waiting to be let inside again. It is lovely waking up to their chirping and chattering and getting a little cuddle when we pick them up, though more and more they are independent and will walk themselves outside and back inside once the back door is opened for them. Its hard letting go. Making the decision that they are big enough to fend for themselves with all the other chickens in the chicken coop at night. These chickens have grown so fast, as do little humans. As Mums and Dads we watch as our children develop and acquire strength and skills. They stand before us bold and strong and ready to go deeper into the world. Eager to make more decisions for themselves. Just like chickens if you keep a warm (maybe not so much clean) house they will be back as long as they know the door will always open for them. These are not my first inside chickens. I am reminded - and just for fun I have shared some old photos of other chicks that have found refuge inside and gradually they have grown into fully fledged outdoor chickens.
