24.01.2022 This is absolutely beautiful! And so important to share the difference between cultural appropriation and cultural appreciation. Cultural appropriation can be defined as selecting certain aspects of a culture, and ignoring their original and cultural significance. Appreciation is honoring and respecting another culture and its practices, as a way to gain knowledge and understanding, and sharing, celebrating and honouring those practices. 03.01.2022 Hola RakaTeros! Victoria is easing restrictions and our dance classes are returning. We cant wait to dance with you but our priority is keeping us all safe so there are a few regulations we all need to follow. There is a size limit to our classes. Our classes will be capped at 10. This is to allow for social distancing. There will be no partner dancing. No casual attendees or walk ins will be allowed. ... All students will need to register via email and pay for the 4 week course via direct transfer before classes start. This will be so we have a record of all who attend, and all contact details should this information become necessary. If you are feeling sick at all, temperature, cough, runny nose or generally feeling unwell, we ask you not to attend. Please bring your own water bottle. We will not be able to use the communal kitchen or drinking taps. Please wash or sanitise your hands before and after each class and avoid touching your face. We are so sorry to say there will be no lingering before and after classes. The space will need to be cleaned down before and after each class and we ask you to arrive and leave in time so this can be done efficiently. If all this is done now, well have many opportunities to chat and dance and socialise at our favourite Latin dance events soon. Were so keen to see you all again! We know some of these new habits might feel a little strange. Please feel free to contact us if there is anything else youd like to clarify. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
