23.01.2022 Naked raku. No glaze. A thick sacrificial slip protects the piece from the blackening smoke but where it cracks you get the web like marks. Again piece must be burnished.

21.01.2022 I am think of doing an obvara firing if anyone is interested. Item needs to be white clay and burnished.

20.01.2022 Just a reminder to make a note of our next raku day on Sunday 22nd November! Time to finish off all those Xmas decorations and think about presents. Nothing nicer than giving something you made yourself. We will have one further firing before Xmas after this one so this week will be your last one to make something and get it glazed in time. I would like to get a lot of the bisque fired work sitting on my shelves glazed and fired so if you have something there and you haven't been for a while please come on the 22nd or it could be taken for someone else's gift. I am hoping to start 2021 with clear shelves as I am reorganising my studio . Hopefully Sam will be coordinating lunch plates. Hope to catch up with everyone soon.

17.01.2022 Just saw the Higgins forecast. Strong westerlies mean 5 days of freezing temps from Saturday! Dress warmly even though we are sheltered from the west it will be nippy!

16.01.2022 Another great day today with a lovely bunch of local ladies celebrating a birthday by messing around with air dry clay. We also did a raku firing and Alex fired her wings. Can't wait to see the accompanying angel.
