24.01.2022 A beautiful farewell lunch with the year 5 and 6 students. What a lovely group of students to take and dine with!
24.01.2022 3-6's art unit Mapping Places involved them creating a mythical background for an imaginary land. They then use Aboriginal symbols to map their land. In Science they used a variety of liquids, observing how quickly they froze and then melted and if different liquids had similar or different results.

23.01.2022 Today 3-6 made cloud slime in science. They were looking at how liquids can turn into solids. It was lots of fun!

21.01.2022 Today in science, 3-6 investigated a non-Newtonian fluid, a substance which can mimic the qualities of a solid or a liquid. They used cornflour and water to create Ooblek. They compared this to the cloud slime they made last week and discussed why and how these two things were so different.
21.01.2022 There was a dance party happening today at Raleigh. We still managed to have a little bit of fun after the disappointment of the Big Banana cancellation and the floods. Thanks Mr Sherwood for a great day!!

18.01.2022 Today in visual arts, 3-6 revisited mapping symbols. They have started to create an abstract sculpture to represent their favourite symbol. They looked at works by Jeneid, Unsworth, Klippel and Calder for inspiration.

12.01.2022 In our Cool Australia recycling week lesson, students learnt about the positive impact of recycling mobile phones and ink cartridges. This lesson put us in the running to win a really cool 3D printer.
12.01.2022 Today our students enjoyed the last day receiving awards in recognition of their great work and having a juice icy pole to cool down, before an afternoon of basketball and fun.

11.01.2022 A beautiful afternoon to walk around Raleigh and investigate the history of our local area. The K-2 class enjoyed being out and about and thinking about why preserving the past is important. All of the students showed a great eye for details when sketching the hall and the church.
11.01.2022 Making and testing our gardening tools was a lot of fun! There were some excellent tools produced.
11.01.2022 Today Mr Pat Conaghan, our local Federal member for Cowper, visited our school to look at our keyboard. We were able to purchase the keyboard with the Commonwealth Local Schools Community Funds grant. We can not wait for Mei to be able to join us again and show us everything it can do!
09.01.2022 This week's dance lessons were lots of active fun!
08.01.2022 Another fun and very active basketball lesson with Coach Denise! Our new shorter hoop has been installed and K-2 loved shooting baskets at the lower height.
06.01.2022 Our Year 6 student moving on to high school, was presented with his graduation medallion and certificate this morning. We will miss you at Raleigh! He presented the 2020 Student of the Year with their trophy, congratulations!

04.01.2022 Today K-2 experimented with Hip Hop in dance. They even had a go at adding some hip hop attitude at the end of the routine

02.01.2022 This afternoon K-2 were looking at shadows and silhouettes as part of their art unit 'Me, myself, I'. They were exploring shapes and shadows by changing poses. The clouds kept getting in the way.
02.01.2022 Today our STEM task was to build a shelter to protect a tissue. 1 or 2 got a splash of water, but all were pretty successful.
01.01.2022 It was so lovely to have something like we normally would today, with our annual Kids in the Kitchen Christmas lunch. It was a little bit different, because everyone had to fill out a menu order, so that it was served before we sat down. Thank you 3-6 for your delicious salads and K-2 for making a super yummy Berry pudding for dessert. What a great day!
