And they marched Water for cotton, and coal for power Unacceptable issues protested this hour. Clear felled forests, rare species threatened The facts are out, We can no longer pretend. And they marched Fair pay for all no more feathering of nests The fat Pollies time will be laid to rest. It's time for real Aussies To take the office Not useless bench sleepers And lawyers filling their coffers. And they marched A new day is dawning For earth, our blessed mother Having nurtured us well She is now being smothered Her progenies trying, They refuse to leave it to fate To nurture her back To a healthier state. And they marched The movement is global The movement has power. It's still but a sandhill But will soon be a tower, It will shine out a light Then all men will see. And truth will then rein And Mother Earth will be free. And they marched, and they marched, and they marched They have just begun, They will stop the coal mining, And the rivers will run. And it's growing faster and faster, the youth (young and old) are massively powerful, they have a voice that CAN'T be ignored, and they are starting to roar. This is a movement like the peace movement of the 60s and 70s; history is being made right now!
