21.01.2022 WORKING DOGS DAY | Last weekend saw our coordinator Kate Arndell brave the cold to host two working dog training days in Upper Horton and Halls Creek. The events, funded by the Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network were great days for locals to come together, learn new skills and connect over a warm cuppa. Well-known dog trainer Tony Overton took the groups through some theory then it was out to the yards to practice and learn.... A huge thank you to Tony for two massive days, the Horton sportsground, Lucy and Gerrad Gallagher for the use of their property, the Country Women's Association (CWA) of NSW branch and 'Catering by Kylie Kitchenshop' for keeping everyone fed, and Coastal Hire for donating the all-important portaloo!

A huge thank you to our MC Jen Crowley and her husband Steve for some stunning images, and to our Dubbo-based coordinator Camilla Herbig for facilitating some great discussion about wellbeing and self care. #BGOYDubbo

10.01.2022 BE GENTLE ON YOURSELF | Thank you to the fabulous #Casino community for hosting us and our Ambassador Melinda Schneider for another inspiring and successful ‘Be Gentle On Yourself’ Wellbeing session. A special shout out to volunteer Women on the Land and community engagement facilitator Tracey Doherty (MC) and her daughter Emma, Rural Community Counsellor (Farmgate) Fiona Couch, RAMHP Coordinator Sam Osborne and to Shane Caldwell who did a Welcome to Country. Local RAMHP Co...ordinator Alex Grantham facilitated some engaging discussion about wellbeing and self-care and Melinda courageously shared her personal story and her incredible moving songs which touched everyone in the audience. The feedback from these events has been overwhelmingly positive Melinda’s story and music has resonated with so many people. We look forward to sharing this feedback with you over the coming weeks. #BGOYCasino

07.01.2022 CONVERSATION CORNER | Our Northern NSW-based coordinator Sam Osborne partnered with Australian Red Cross, NSW Department of Primary Industries, Clarence Valley Council, StandBy - Support after Suicide and NSW Health's disaster counsellor in a 'Conversation Corner' at the #Nymboida Camp Oven Festival over the June long weekend. It's been a challenging few years for many and the Conversation Corner provided a safe and quiet space for local folk and visitors to relax and have a chat. The event attracted an unprecedented number of visitors to the Nymboida community, heavily impacted by the 2019 bushfires, droughts and floods.

02.01.2022 SHARE YOUR STORY | A new research project is seeking to understand the experiences of young people aged 16-25 who have been impacted by drought or bushfire. Find out more below
