25.01.2022 Just like the cries from the kitchen in the film The Castle, we often heard the phrase Tell em they’re dreamin! Well this may quieten a few of those cries, it’s started! Free launching and free parking at many ramps across the state with more to come. The Better Boating Victoria team with limited resources and limited time have come through with part of the promise made to us by Jaala Pulford MP at the last election. It’s a great start and we look forward to celebrating the rest as they become part of the program. Well done team and thanks Minister.

19.01.2022 Ramp Ragers - a win win by all accounts on the announcements from both major parties for this state election. It is no secret that the Ramp Rage campaign was run in the lead up to an election as that would have been the best chance at securing the appropriate funding and policy to suit the best outcome for recreational boating in Victoria. It has not been easy but with persistant and planned campaigning we have the results we asked for. If you require any further detail on the policy points please let us know.

17.01.2022 It's taken the Andrews Labor Government less than two weeks....

03.01.2022 Here it is Ramp Ragers! An announcement from the Premier of Victoria the Hon Daniel Andrews MP on Better Boat Ramps, Free Parking and More Fish for Victorians.

03.01.2022 Feel Free To Share Yesterday, I thought I was up for a bit of exercise so I went for a walk inside my 25km radius down at Patterson River. Upon arrival I found ...that I was not on my own but a small portion of Victoria's boat owners thought it would be a good day to get their recreation with 25km of home also. Now I should also emphasize that it was the first day the ramp traffic was being managed by a stop go traffic management company after the Hogan crew were unceremoniously booted from the gig because their 25 years of perfect operation was not enough experience (that's another story for another day). Driving into launching way at 0515 I was met with a high vis reflective sign reading "BOAT PARKING FULL - USE MORDIALLOC OR FRANKSTON" I thought this was odd considering only folks within 25km can launch here and surely with no queue in sight things we not right. I preceded to drive my car with no boat or trailer attached down to the launching area. First thing I saw was cars aplenty parked in the trailer parking areas with no trailers, trailers all over the place trying to launch boats in chaos and no immediate sign of any traffic management. I continued to drive down the ramp way when I made my first sight of a stop go worker in a ute. parked with lights ablaze with boats on trailers whizzing in and around him all over the place. You see he had parked in the area normally reserved for trailers waiting to launch. With a slight chuckle at the mess I was watching I headed down to the overflow parking area. This was the icing on the cake, remember the sign saying ramp full. The overflow was locked and still empty, meaning a conservative 90 more spaces available. We counted 68 cars with no trailer parked in boat trailer parking areas meaning with overflow and cars blocking parking this meant there was still 158 places to park trailers. Why on earth was the ramp advertised as full when it was only about 60% capacity. I stopped my car for a moment at the shop/gatehouse on the way out, in approx 20 minutes I saw at least 15 cars with trailer turn around and leave without venturing over the hill to see the ramp. As I left I pulled up at the entrance and although the ramp was not full the sign remained. DEWLP, the ministers office and Better Boating Victoria have some serious questions to answer here. In 2 years what have BBV done to make boating better in Victoria? Why would we divert launching to Mordialloc when Launching way is not full and Modialloc only holds 18 trailers? Why would we divert launching to Frankston where a mobile cafe and food truck block trailer parking and council does not enforce boat trailer only parking rules and is full of cars. Why was the overflow locked at 0530 on a public holiday? Who Authorized a ramp full and diversion sign to be placed when ramp was not only not full but only at 60% capacity? If traffic diversions were required because of capacity why was the you beaut camera system BBV is sprouting about saying open and quiet? The questions could go on - is this the new norm for Better Boating Victoria. Chaos, confusion, bad management of ramps and traffic, wasted money on cameras and apps that dont work, wasted money on playgrounds, wasted money on gardens, wasted money on upgrades where upgrades are not needed all while we watch in horror as our facilities breakdown around us. Ramp Rage will return and we will not accept this mediocracy of mismanagement and blatant waste of our money any longer, we are watching and we will hold those responsible to account. *note this was at a time where 25km restrictions are still in place and ramp was not all that busy.
