22.01.2022 This is a poem I wrote for the diggers, feel free to share. Side by side Side by side they march across a beach, no sign of safety within their reach, gunfire ringing in their heads they sleep in muddy trenches on timber makeshift beds. A long long way from home, loved ones left on their own. A sense of honour moves them on, so many men already gone. Strength & pride so very strong, side by side is where mates belong. ANZAC diggers they go by name, they lay in fields with no... shame. The memories of these men shall never be forgotten, side by side we will stand together to honour them.
