25.01.2022 Changes to Cervical Screening from December 1, 2017! Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers. The new Cervical Screening Test is expected to protect up to 30% more women. The Pap test is being replaced with a new Cervical Screening Test every five years for women over 25. Women between 18 and 25 are no longer eligible for a free cervical screening test, unless symptomatic.... The test is a quick and simple procedure to check the health of your cervix. It looks and feels the same as the Pap test, but tests for the human papillomavirus (known as HPV). Your first Cervical Screening Test is due two years after your last Pap test. After that, you will only need to have the test every five years if your results are normal. If you have not have a cervical screening test in over 2 years please contact the practice to make an appointment on 9399 6327.
