15.01.2022 Please find below update regarding COVID-19 from Knox Basketball CEO, Grant Harrison. ------------------ As you would have heard recently in the news, The Premier Daniel Andrews has announced he will be looking to ease restrictions on 1st June 2020, with two further dates of 22nd June and mid-July also being mentioned. As we know, these easing of restrictions are totally dependent on COVID-19 outbreaks and the curve at those times. I have been in constant communication with ...both Basketball Victoria and Sport Recreation Victoria regarding these potential dates, and at this stage its still unclear if community sport will be part of this. I have been asked to hold off with announcing Knox Basketball’s plan to resume playing until we get a definitive response from State Government. KBI has a plan in place, and once we receive the update we need from the State Government and Basketball Victoria, we will send this out to you immediately. (NB: Being an indoor sport we could be a while off yet)
14.01.2022 Monday 16th March 2020 COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update: Knox Basketball is continuing to take the utmost care in staying up to date and providing members with news as developments arise. As such, please read the attached media release from today’s announcement by The Premier; The Hon. Daniel Andrews, declaring a State of Emergency. In short, the State Government has stipulated a full closure of all sporting associations where the potential of 500 or more persons in one locat...ion is possible. This ban has taken immediate effect from midday today through to midnight on 13th April 2020. Knox Basketball will continue to adhere to Basketball Victoria’s recommendation and await their further advice regarding this. Until such time further information comes to hand, Knox Basketball competitions will remain suspended including junior & senior domestic, VJBL, Big V, team trainings, individual skill sessions and other programs - until midnight 13th April 2020. If this date changes, we will advise you all immediately. Winter Season 2020: Many clubs have raised concerns about Winter season 2020 and if its progressing or not. I can assure you all that Knox Basketball and other associations are ALL planning to have full competitions back up and running asap, hopefully before finals start for our current Summer 19/20 season, but definitely for Winter season 2020. Based on today’s announcement this was also confirmed by the State Government that competitions are likely to re-start on 14th April. Please make sure your players and parents are aware and register with Play HQ asap. If needed, KBI will look to extend the current team submission deadline to assist Clubs during the registration period. Finally, Knox Basketball needs the support of all clubs, parents and players. We need your players to register for Winter 2020, and hopefully in high numbers, higher than ever before. If players don’t register then this hurts not only their own domestic clubs, but also Knox Basketball association. 03.01.2022 NEW SEASON, NEW SEASON, NEW SEASON - It has been decided to recommence a new season Winter 2020 and Summer 2020 will remain incomplete!! Hi all well the news is bball will recommence July 25. I will forward the latest update from Knox in the next email. This will include how KBI intend to cope with the Covid situation. This email is to get you all online to register. We need you to do this by our cut off 8 July as team submissions are due in the days after. So we (the coordin...ators) don't have a lot of time to put teams together. We also ask all coaches to register online, there is no charge but you do need to enter your WWC details. Due to this unprecedented time Ranges are offering a 30% discount to all junior (U8-U16 players). You will remember that Ranges had introduced a new fee structure to include all court fees and associated costs. $185 Club registration per season and $25 play hq registration which is for a 365 day period. For U19-U23 the Club registration per season is $120 and $39 play hg registration which is for a 365 day period. The play hq payment is insurance and is paid once and covers you in all Basketball Victoria Associations. What this means for Winter 2020 season is al U8-U16 players MUST go online and register your W20 fee is $129.50 + $25. U19-23 players MUST go online and register your fee remains $120 + $39. You will not need to pay any court fees week to week. YOU DO NEED TO REGISTER TO BE ALLOCATED TO A TEAM. The new system does not allow me to add unregistered players!
