12.01.2022 Alois Podhajsky, 1965: "In order to explain why the early training stages of a young horse seem to be so long it has to be pointed out that the rider has to c...reate a solid foundation on which he can later build the Haute École as the crowning achievement of his work. Confirming this solid foundation requires the longest time in training - almost two thirds of the overall duration. Then it will be relatively easy for the rider to polish his work of art. The time that is dedicated to the confirmation of this foundation - no matter how long - can never be considered waisted or a loss of time." 10.01.2022 Want to ride better? Try riding with one hand, says Dutch international showjumper, Albert Voorn: Riding with your reins in one hand also makes you sit taller a...nd your leg is not so active. The horse is in the pace you want and you can leave him alone. The reason you have to work hard with your leg, is because you use your hand too much. Reins in one hand stops this. Keep the leg straight up and down, don’t let it work backwards. Be tall as well. Don’t close your body when you do something. https://www.horsemagazine.com//top-tip-albert-voorn-try-r/ See more

Researchers are now calling for your help to assist with understanding if and how the situation facing Australian and NZ horse owners has changed....
