19.01.2022 The recent MBS announcement to expand the use of glaucoma stenting devices signals a change to clinical practice. RANZCO collaborated with ANZGS on guidelines to ensure adherence to best practice standards. The guidelines recommend establishing registries and clinical audits to collect baseline data and address gaps in the knowledge base around the glaucoma management pathway. 14.01.2022 "The timely campaign comes as ANZEF notes that household eye injuries are on the rise, with home-based activities gaining in popularity during the COVID-19 lockdowns. According to RANZCO, 30% of all eye injuries occur at home. Most preventable eye injuries happen during DIY projects, car repairs or gardening and are caused by chemical burns, penetrating eye injuries and small particles."
